I went to 4 different doctors before I found one who believed me that my son had a posterior tongue tie. He was eight months old when I self diagnosed him after so many problems nursing, not being able to chew solids, and reflux. Your momma gut just knows! The fifth doctor saw it right away, clipped it, and we haven’t had a problem since. 🙌🏻I’m so glad God showed you how to move forward.

Our kids #2 ( well our #1 but we adopted #2 who is older) had to have a frenectomy - lip tie laser done. Took no time at all but we did have to end up doing it twice. We didn't notice for almost a year because our BFing was good ( or so I thought!( She fed every two hours until easily a year. She was a class four lip tie- all the way to the gum base and a Y shape on top that was very wide. The hardest part was rubbing the area to ensure it doesn't reseal and the stretches. Our ped who is young told me in med school they don't even learn about it!. Poor bambino! Good luck! You got this!

My son had his tongue tie clipped at around 6 weeks. He was back to normal the same day and I felt relief while nursing immediately. As the area healed it sort of turned white. Our doctor told us that we didn’t need to do any stretches or mess with it and that it wouldn’t reseal, so we didn’t and we had no other issues! I hope her revision helps with everything and that she’s feeling back to normal now :)

I searched up tongue ties, because our daughter is having her revision done. I wanted to see other people's experiences before and after to look for some tips for tomorrow. I just heard you say your daughter's name is Selah in the video and that's my daughters name too! It's so neat to hear someone else have this name!

Loved this video!!! All three of my children has tongue ties. The oldest wasn't lasered until he was 2 1/2, my middle son was 9 months old. I hate that I didn't know about it sooner on them. This time around with my third child we had it lasered when she was 2 weeks old. Night and day difference! So refreshing to see other families going through the same thing.

@@bluemermaid7508 honestly the procedure wasn't too terrible because it's so quick and they gave him a popsicle right after. The worst part is the stretches. Honestly they were horrible! He had teeth and would bite us. We finally figured out to wrap one finger in a wash cloth and allow him to bite on that while the other finger slid in and did the stretches. It still sucked, but I'm so glad we did it.

Hi! I’m not sure if you’ll see this since this is such an old video but I was wondering how your little one was and is doing now after the revision? My son is almost 7 months old and we have an appointment next week to possibly get his posterior tongue tie revised and I’ve just been a wreck for 7 months now debating to or not to release and doing everything I can to try to help his latch, reflux, open mouth, etc in other ways. We just had my 8 week old done 2 days ago. And ugh My heart is breaking for her during these stretches. She is just screaming her little heart out. Our chiropractor is out of the country on vacation so she can't get in until next week. She is miserable 😭 Please tell me this passes soon...

My son is 3.5 years old and is tongue and lip tied, possibly has a cheek tie too. His speech seems to be coherent. Doesn't seem in pain. But I was wondering if kids with ties have any particular emotional problems that stand out that stem from ties?

We had this done on our three year old when he was about two weeks old. It didn't save our nursing the way I hoped but since i suffer from migraines I figure it is preventative for those types of things later on. We just kept the meds coming for him while we did the stretches and it was only bad right after. Maybe plan near a nursing session? It'll pass quickly be a distant memory soon! Good luck!

People with ties typically have what is called the "MTHFR GENE" and these people are very vulnerable to vaccine injury. Mainstream Pediatricians will not accept any negative information regarding the dangers of vaccines so they will not be helpful. But you've done a great job researching ties this far so I bet you could find the truth out about vaccines.

My daughter has a mild lip tie. Her pediatrician noticed it at her newborn appointment. At the time she said if there were no issues we didn't need to reverse it. And we haven't. But as she's gotten older now my thing is more cosmetic than out if need. I was told wayyyyy back when that dentist's are the people to go to for reversal. Mom fail and I still havent taken my 3.5 year old to the dentist. Im working on it lol. But I still kind of want it cut. Idk. Selah is beautiful and will get thru this was ease ☺️

We paid $300 for a lip tie from a dentist that speciailzed in it - cash/credit not insurance. We called about 5 that did it and drove 2 hrs away to get that price though. Many did charge $600+ or didn't do laser. Florida.

We paid $450 per frenectomy (so it would have been $900 for both tongue and lip but we only needed the tongue done). Not covered by insurance in our case. I think you have to have a significant problem with weight gain to be approved.

Paid $800 for tongue tie removal with laser, used a pediatric dentist who specializes in it, insurance will cover some not sure how much yet.

Yup! Tessie got hers done at about 2 months old, same story we asked the LC, and the peds, and were referred to an ENT and we decided to go to a dentist. It was a day & night difference on nursing. Same as you I never had pain or any issues but her latch was SO shallow. Tessie’s was the exact opposite her lip was a 2 and her tongue a 4 and her tongue one wasn’t visible hubby thought I was crazy until the dentist pulled back her tongue and showed him. Tessie was so young that she literally just slept all day afterwards, and yes she was still exclusive breastfeed so all she got was milk, granted once the tie was done she took a paci and a bottle which she hadn’t before and we started solids at 5 ish months because she was definitely ready. One thing I will say is DO THE STRETCHES!! It makes a huge difference. Sadly we didn’t do them consistently because it was so hard and now at 2 my daughter has the ties again. Granted they aren’t effecting anything at the moment but she could be in speech shortly down the road. We plan to get them evaluated again by another dentist. Hers was just because of her age we were told they could grow back once she got older and they are hereditary which both myself and my husband have ☹️ and I was in speech therapy growing up so just to ease your mind some. It was definitely a good choice mama! Great job following your mama gut. And YES it helps with reflux on my goodness it helps!
