Great vid Kevin ! I know my '04 steps are the original set, I keep pivot points lubed except way underneath, got to do that, hope it also has the half-moon gear. I need to look and see... Scott.

Thanks for the video, Kevin. This is my next project as well as changing out the gear and motor. The teeth on the gear are wore out, and the ateps are jumping teeth as the steps open and close. BTW, I got my rear hub seal changed out successfully, and the RV passed inspection. My brother and I modified an old lawnmower blade to serve as a seal Puller, well seal pusher and wheel bearing locking tab bender. I send you a picture of it.

The nylon rub buttons I’ll call them under the half round gear, often wear down and cause issues also.

Great tips Kevin!! Before our move out to Florida, I went ahead and lubricated all the stair joints because it was fussing at me(making noise). I squired all the joints but didn't put grease on the half moon gear I just sprayed lubrication on that gear. i need to go back and put grease on there instead of spray lube. I now need to inspect all the stacked (what ever you called them), and see how mine are. As always, thanks for the tips!!!

One more good tip is make sure the green ground wire connection to chassis is clean and solid. Mine wasn’t and closed about half way. Tightened and worked like new. I just looked and sure enough, one of my rivots is loose. Thanks

Grounds Grounds always a problem on a RV..lol

I've found the self drying silicone spray or garage chain spray oil works well for this stuff too.
@ktoutdoor2 жыл бұрын
I like the garage chain spray ideal

I tired the silicone spray but it's just not much of a true lubricant so it didn't work for me. Sounds like the chain spray would work.
