Kudos to Zai for sure but there are some unbelievable plays happening in the last 60 seconds that will likely go unnoticed that, without them, Talon probably wins: (1) at 39:26 Boxi (Rubick) almost dies to 23Savage (Morphling) - Boxi has NO buyback - Boxi (w/ 118 HP) glimmers and force staffs himself in the well then gets Fortune End from Insania (Oracle), (2) at 39:36 Zai (Broodmother) makes it back into the well and, realizing they need a miracle, sells his nullifier and his BKB to buy travel boots then travels to enemy base, (3) this next point is, in my mind, the game winner for Liquid - at 39:51, 23Savage (Morphling) tries to TP back but gets stunned by Rubick's (Boxi) stolen avalanche - then at 39:55 Ember Spirit (Mikoto) tries to TP and gets cancelled by Oracle's (Insania) Fortunes End...Keep in mind that had Boxi not survived in the well (see point #1 above), he would not have been able to cancel Morphling's TP...I suppose one could argue that Brood may have still beat them in the base race even with a Morphling and/or Ember TP but I think it would have been unlikely. One final comment with respect to point #3 above - specifically the Rubick avalanche onto Morphling..There's a camera angle (not shown in this video) of 23Savage (Morphling) standing up and celebrating at the 59:40 IN GAME TIME mark. He takes off his headphones and starts waving both at the crowd and the Team Liquid both. Literally seconds later he realizes it's not over and tries to sit back down in his chair but the chair has spun around and he has to sit on the arm rest. My guess is that, had he not been flustered by his premature celebration, he would have waveformed to a safe TP location, not been stunned, and likely had a shot at stopping Brood. Karma? The clip of the premature celebration by 23Savage (Morphling) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGquZWqVa7aejJI EDIT: Some other components - amid the chaos that ensued - that further enabled Zai (Brood) to take the throne in the nick of time: 1) 23Savage (Morphling) prematurely glyphed for radiant at 39:28. 2) When Morphing gets stunned at 39:51, he only had 0.3 seconds left on his TP...crazy. Rubick's blink only comes off of cooldown at 39:52 which is why it was only at the last second that he was able to blink avalanche. 3) Morphling mistakenly uses satanic at 39:57 which he could have used to dispel Fate's Edict one second later. 4) Insania (Oracle) disarms Morphling with Fate's Edict at 39:58. 5) Boxi (Rubick) immediately uses Telekinesis on Morphling right after the disarm ends at 40:01.

Karma for Savage, he was celebrating then he realize Zai already in their base, so he sat back and TP without waveforming to a safe location. If he was focused he could have waveout tp to avoid getting cancelled. Karma indeed, early celebration gone wrong.

If understand correctly during the post match interview of Zai, he pretty much muted his teamates at this point which means that there was no communication during this entire throne race and the supports just immediately reacts.

I think he got disappointed when his cores kept misplaying (micke whiffing chronos for example) so he was like I can’t trust them and just decided to win the game on his own terms. It’s the 1v9 solo queue mentality. He was playing together with the two supports though, from start to end. Anyway the stone face upon winning was probably because he wasn’t very happy with how they won that game. Even post-game he had no problem praising Talon for playing well but said him and his team needed to do better.
