I REALLY like your style of demonstration. That was very helpful to me. You have good taste too! Great pickups and playing! Keep rocking!!!

First off, I wasn't expecting the "Take 5" cover in there, nice touch. I've been an Evo user for years but now it seems the only solution is for me now is to get another guitar to throw the Crunch Lab/Liquifire combo in haha 😅
@ajkenth23873 жыл бұрын
Difference to me is that liquifier is more articulate while evo is a more rounded sound. To me the liqifire will pair better with articulate or rounded speakers while the evo would need articulate speakers or it would sound too muddy. We should also remember evo is designed to complement evo bridge, which is glass articulate.

3:00 I wasn't expecting waves on this lol. Hell of a song to play. Very good review! I'm thinking in some perpetual burn pickup on this one. If u have any thoughts please share
The weird thing is I am a huge Steve Vai fan, and I like his tone. BUT, I already owned a Universe UV7BK, tried out Jems extensively, and I really don't like them. They sound very muffled and bland to me. But I am a straight to amp person and these guitars were built to work with tons of processing. The Liquifire is better IMO.

Yeah evo's sounds much better on mahogany maple top guitars, i find it weird they make jem out of basswood which is very light wood which makes evos abit thin.

It's rare to have someone define EVOs as sounding muddy. The neck pick up is indeed very warm, but I think the intent is to contrast the otherwise very bright bridge. There is a major difference between Vai's EVO Jem and the production 7VWH. Vai uses the bridge EVO in both positions, and the EVO bridge in the neck of the Alder body modeI is better sounding IMO. It might also have something to do with it being more authentic sounding as opposed to being objectively better. I'm not as opposed to the EVO neck in my basswood 777 anni though. I have a Universe that I've only found to like the tone of when going through a distortion pedal.

Evolution neck is too Fat, it gives a muddy distorted tone. I have come to appreciate Dimarzio Breed neck, it is much better and sounds like a hotter Paf Pro... Evolution pickups sounds much better in a Mahogany body maple top guitar. In a Basswood body Evo2 bridge is more balanced...but evo neck sounds good only with middle pickup
