The problem with a lot of scary games is that they are no using the environment enough to create an uneasy feeling. Devs just focus on specific jumpscares and generators. It's good to walk around to find tools to progress , but if you don't have the good environment, then it's just going to be annoying most of the time. The Mortuary Assistant game is a good exemple. They was some specific jumpscares but most of the scary part came from walking and treating the bodies. Nothing too crazy. Add some weird noises in the environment, scary silouhette watching. No need to have big loud jumpscares everytime. That game was decent. All the items were available in one spot so that you don't have to walk all over the place to find them. I agree with Lirik, started good then at the end it was meh.
