@LisaPeters You make it into an art form. Watching the beautiful scenery pass by and it's all natural. When I have sorted my life and self out, I will start practicing skateboarding. And I WILL come to America and other countries to ABSORB and feel the good vibrations of these places as I surf past like an angel from the heavens 🛹

EXCELLENT VIDEO I was doing something like this 50+ years ago before skateboard technology blew up. I had a long beautiful two tone wooden surfboard-shaped board with those hard roller skate wheels. That’s all you could get. Addicted to these videos.

@@andrewbeattieRAB Irish, born in England, not dual though. I remember the craze coming out of California, and we got some lame skate parks in England, but if this is what you were doing, then it's been a massive cover up, haha.

@@sirrobinofloxley7156 I was 11 in 1971 (yes, I know I’m old) and living in LA at the time. No such thing as a skate park then. Later in 1975, riding down the seawall in Ayr Scotland on that same board, I looked rather American. 🤙
@sirrobinofloxley71562 жыл бұрын
@@andrewbeattieRAB I was, with the family, going to emigrate to California at that time, hence I paid a lot of heed to what was going on there. Never went though, ended up going to China to learn wushu, where they all thought I was American. I had a skateboard circa 1977, but nowhere to go, so used to bike everywhere. Thanks for hearing your story, mega stuff matey!

OMG, skateboarding down SONORA PASS!!! For those who are not familiar with this road, that drop down Deadman Canyon (up through about 2:30) is ridiculously steep - up to 26% grade. That’s over 1300 vertical feet per mile of road! Honestly, between the steepness and the curves, I would not think anyone would be able skate that particular section of road. You certainly have MY respect!

WOW Girlie! You are something else fo sho! Smooth and fast as PHauk. Then she goes flying past the road sign warning truckers about the downhill grade...and how does our lovely protagonist respond? Shortly after this she pulls her hands back, tips her head down, then flexing her knees she leans forward into it!!! I am amazed at the clean ride maintained from start to end! Your talent and skills are so impressive you made this old lady tear up a bit. 😪

according to spud it is a more eco friendly way of salting the streets for winter season. i am not native english but i hope you get the message
@riverzdad5366 Жыл бұрын
It’s how they salt the roads. The plows come by with sand and spray at the same time while it’s snowing but typically only spray before a big storm. Normally 1-3 days ahead of time.
@matthewstorm5188 Жыл бұрын
@@riverzdad5366But Sonora Pass generally isn’t salted since it’s not kept open in winter. They close it at the first heavy snowfall and don’t open it again until (usually) late May or early June. The only time they MIGHT salt Sonora Pass is if the area was to get a relatively light snowstorm in fall before closing or spring after opening. But this wouldn’t be an extremely common thing. Then again, perhaps it is just a standard thing to make roads like this through the mountains, just in case. Especially considering that this is one of California’s highest mountain passes.

Lisa Awesome vid, question. what’s the reason DH riders are moving to shorter boards and more importantly smaller truck widths. Is it not less stable?
@LisaPeters Жыл бұрын
Good question, but with a shorter board and smaller trucks you have more grip in the corners. You can have more speed through the corners without breaking out. It is not always less stable if you set up your trucks right. :)

Was that near lovers leap? I can’t for the life of me pinpoint where that’s at. Curious because I live in Reno.
@matthewstorm5188 Жыл бұрын
This is Sonora Pass (Highway 108). It’s not very close to Lover’s Leap (which is on 50). It’s actually closer to Yosemite. You need to drive down 395 about 15 miles beyond Walker and then make a right at Sonora Pass Junction. It’s about 115 miles from Reno.

Awesome! I love watching your videos, I watch because it’s something I’d love to do but don’t have the sliding skills to slow myself down and would ultimately end up as road kill. I mentioned you in one of my KZbin videos of me making a longboard (not sure which because I’ve made a few) possibly the Union Jack pintail or Snakeboard. Leave a comment if you ever get around to finding it that would be awesome. Thanks for sharing your video……
