WE LOVE YOU GUYS :D
WHO WE ARE:
We are Christina, Katherine, Lisa, Amy, and Lauren Cimorelli, 5 sisters originally from Northern California who are now based in Nashville, TN. We grew up singing in a big family of 11 children and our mom, a classical pianist, taught us to sing in harmony when we were kids. We got our start in musical theatre productions, doing classical pieces in the church choir and performing barbershop harmonies at nursing homes for the elderly (back then our grandma was our agent).
In 2009, when Christina was 18 years old and Lauren was 10 years old, we posted a cover of us singing Party In The USA that ended up going viral. From that video, we were discovered by a manager in London, and shortly after signed with Universal Music Group under Island Records. We moved to Los Angeles in 2010, where we lived and worked in the L.A. pop music world for 5 years, before getting extremely burnt out. We realized a major label deal wasn’t for us, left our label and moved to Nashville, TN, looking for a new start. In 2015, we officially became Nashville-based, independent artists.
Since then, we have written and released 5 albums of original music, toured all over the U.S., South America, and Europe, performed at festivals in Germany, Spain and the Philippines, wrote a book, Believe In You: Big Sister Stories and Advice on Living Your Best Life, started a podcast (The Cimorelli Podcast) and reached over 1 billion views on our KZbin channel. Currently, the 5 of us sisters are embarking on new journeys of marriage and starting our own families (Christina, Katherine and Lisa), and figuring out life as twenty-somethings (Lauren and Amy).
Our goal with our KZbin channel is to constantly challenge ourselves to grow creatively, and to make videos and music that is positive, uplifting and innovative. Our Christian faith guides our decisions, and we will always create content that is family friendly, while not being afraid to touch on topics that we believe are important, such as mental health and personal growth. Thank you for being here, and for being a part of our amazing supporters, the Cim Fam!

After going through 18 hours of back labor, then getting an epidural which ran out also, I needed a C-Section because his head was too big and stuck in the birth canal. They said I could go a V-Back or another C-Section with my second one and I couldn't imagine going through all that again so I chose the C-Section. Best decision ever!! You walk in the hospital feeling great (plus they did it two weeks before my due date) and walk out two days later with your baby!! Ok, there was some pain from the operation but nothing compared to labor pain.

@@SawsanAli-f6u it happens often sure, but not because doctors are the worst? You’ve just described my labour pretty much - trauma and all, except my only regret was not opting for the c-section first of all. I was so disappointed when they told me because if I’d just known… The length of my labour also gave me an infection so I was practically delirious during the surgery, not a great time for me. Like you said, not in the right frame of mind to hold my child straight away - think I tried but then I had to say “I feel really sick, I can’t” 🤦🏻‍♀️😭😭😭

My first birth was traumatizing, I managed to get mine out in that last push before the c section, with forceps. My second birth I watched so many videos to prepare and did breathing exercises etc and managed to have a natural birth. The pain was definitely easier without the induction and the breathing really helped.

I have had three kids. I had epidurals with my first two and they were completely different experiences. My first one was great. Worked wonderfully and I couldn’t feel anything at all really. My second wore off about 10 hours in and I was also on Pitocin (which makes EVERYTHING so much worse). My second epidural was apparently botched and I leaked Spinal Fluid into my back for months afterwards. (That’s about as painful as contractions.) With my third, I decided to go natural with the use of narcotics to allow me to sleep if I needed it. I ended up taking the narcotics so I could get some rest. Two hours later I was in the Worst. Pain. Of My. Life. I wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy, but I am glad that I got to experience natural labor and delivery, just for the fact that it gave me a new respect for my own body. Also, I have massive amounts of respect for women who have c-sections. The recovery that is involved is so much more intense than a vaginal birth, and I pray that no woman feels like they are less a mother or woman because they weren’t able to have a vaginal birth. Having a c-section just shows to what lengths you will go to ensure that your child/ren are happy and healthy. Y’all are all awesome.

Everything leading up to the point where your labor stalled was literally what happened to me with my first. 3 days of prodromal labor leading up to an induction. Epidural didn't work right once I got to like 6cm and I went from 6 to 10 in like an hour. Then I was so exhausted from not sleeping for 4 days I didn't even want to be there any more and almost passed out pushing. My second birth experience was a whole different disaster.

Hey Lisa, our birth stories couldn’t be more similar! Mine was traumatic as well and I was worried to have the emergency c section but honestly it was the easiest thing and the recovery was pretty easy for me. I’m having a scheduled c section in April with my second and I’m looking forward to a nice, calm, non intense birth! I just wake up and say let’s go have this baby! I don’t know why c sections have the worst rep ever. They save babies lives!!

You’re definitely still lucky with how things went. Even tho you had a few lapse moments without the epidural your spinal tap went amazing and you felt absolutely nothing. My sisters c section didn’t go as well. She said she was in a lot of pain and felt pressure and told them but they didn’t care. She also said they somehow messed up giving her the spinal tap ( I forget exact details). She has had pain now in her back ever since. They also didn’t give her any pain medicine when she went home like they said they were and are supposed to. Tbh it’s put me off from having a baby or at least around my area since there doesn’t seem to be a good hospital to go to! I want doctors and nurses who are going to listen when I say I’m in pain not just get ignored. I also don’t want them to mess things up!

I had a C-section with my daughter (first baby) and my experience was pretty normal other than a few issues but my postpartum was not expected! I was soooo drugged I can’t remember a single thing about my C-section or recovery after surgery… I don’t remember my daughter coming out or crying for the first time, I don’t remember holding her for the first time, I was hallucinating during my surgery, they took my healthy, “normal” baby out of the OR before I was done with my surgery (with her daddy but still lol) and I didn’t come around after my surgery for a couple of hours. I kinda woke up and just had a baby next to me and didn’t understand what happened. After I got out of the hospital and was home my incision busted open and I was in the ER for a couple of hrs… and I suffered from severe postpartum depression until I was about 9 months postpartum. It was a wild ride but would definitely do it again for my babies and I’m so happy you have your beautiful healthy baby girl now and are doing okay! Congratulations mama 🎉

I was just explaining to my husband, and father of my children, that growing up all the women who had babies would glorify it and not mention any of the hard parts (like labor, pelvic girdle pain, ound ligament pain, SPD, acid reflux, etc.) and so a lot of the stuff i feel like i should have known as a woman was hidden from me. He was feeling upset because of how little research we did pre-pregnancy and how we just jumped into the process without any questions (we researched how to track my cycle and the chances of miscarriage but nothing else), so i wanted him to not put all the pressure on himself since 50% of researching is my job so he shouldn't beat himself up (i got DARK stretch marks from our firstborn son and when he saw them last night he seemed upset by them and he seemed instantly sad and depressed over it, as if they were his fault).

im 6 mins in, and it STILL makes me so frustrated that the drs scare first-time moms. WOMEN WERE MADE TO BEAR CHILDREN. the "drs" scared me, too. they said "he's big and you're dilated 3, but then it closed back up and now it's 2" - YOU CANT CLOSE BACK UP. i should've went home when they told me that. side note- you can still go home even after they perform the epidural. I didn't. i was scared as a first time mom. long story short, i was scared/forced to have a c-section. im mad at myself for not waiting until my son was ready, and im still mad that they scared me into forcing my baby out. my son wasn't ready, but here i am, can't sit on my bum because it was SO uncomfortable. i nursed for almost 3 years, he's six now and at the top of his class. (he just graduated kinder) . but yeah... the oath that the dr's take is bs. BS. they lie. Edit: I thought they treat you better when you have good insurance- THEY DONT (I don't have "good insurance")

When Lisa said about the feeling of pushing, she is 100% accurate. As a mom of two, for me the pushing feeling was instinctual. I was fortunate to be able to have 2 safe vaginal deliveries for my kids. Personally I think it has to do with my wide hips

I have wide hips, they did nothing to help me. I think it’s a lot of factors, including your body and baby being ready.

Oh my gosh… this is so similar to my first pregnancy! I had the Gestational Diabetes, had to get induced, epidural ran out, had to use the peanut… all of it! I didn’t need the c-section thankfully but I almost asked for it since I was OVER it!

Hey, the most important fact that I also wasn’t told is that Inductions are 10x more painful than when your body naturally goes through labor. The medicine they give to dilate and thin you out gives intense contractions that are forced and not normal. Sometimes inductions work out but many times they end in C-Section. Everything happens the way it should and God makes no mistakes. Just glad you and your baby are healthy and well. PS: I ended up having a natural birth with my second after my first was a C-Section with gestational diabetes and an induction just like you.

Sometimes waiting to go into labor can be extremely dangerous too. I let them convince me to go 2 weeks late with my son and had a whole slew of complications because he should’ve been taken out earlier. Some people’s bodies cannot handle it no matter how much people tell them “natural is better”. And the US is actually the most dangerous developed country to give birth in.

You know what else is “normal”? Women dying in childbirth. I hope you don’t tell people whose loved ones died in pregnancy/labour/birth that “god makes no mistakes.”

@@Lau3464l This is the problem with the world and we are not going to argue about someone’s right to whatever religious beliefs he or she may have just because it doesn’t align with yours. This is a beautiful moment for Lisa and yes, I believe everything happens for a reason whether good or bad.

@@Lau3464l and you’re absolutely right in placing “normal” in air quotes because honestly there’s no such concept in the whole world that is “normal”. Normal is whatever society deemed as going smoothly without a hitch, once there’s no complications all of a sudden it’s “normal”. Every last physical body is different so there really is no “normal” more like it was successful in medical standards.

I can't relate enough with your birth experienced, cause I also been through double labour and its exactly like you but minus the epidural, I ask I want it but they did'nt have. Its so traumatized for the couple of weeks but thankyou cause I did'nt feel I'm alone. 😊💝

Congrats Lisa on your little girl!!!! My goodness this whole story sounds traumatic 😭😭 especially being a first time pregnancy sheesh! I’m thankful that you are ok, the baby is ok, i hope it doesn’t hurt to heal or to sing and hopefully your husband wasn’t too traumatized either lol. Husband birth stories are hilarious you should talk him into doing a video on it 🤣🤣
