Nice run dude! I did a brad only run on pain mode, and it was fun. Some parts were horrible and it's much harder when you can't save-scum or save before a hard battle, but it's managable. My respect goes out to you for doing this run

I've done Brad only too (armless no joy pain mode,) to be honest it's a really interesting run. I think the late game for Brad only can be a bit annoying for the decent chunk of enemies with perma kill attacks, Mutant Hawkwood was the bane of my existence because of how RNG dependent that entire fight is when you're only using Brad. It's a really neat run though and does really challenge your core understanding of the game. I also just did a two man only run using only Brad and Olan and that was really fun, I think it manages to avoid the annoying issue Brad only gets where Perma death skills just nuke your run even if you play perfectly by allowing for a party member to take the hit or allowing Brad to take the hit (Olan with Hide is busted for that fact.) I definitely have more fun doing two man army opposed to Brad only for that fact. (I also think it just allows you a lot of wiggle room to mess around with the mechanics a bit more and you know, use the incredibly deep status effect system of Lisa.) Honestly challenge runs for Lisa The Painful is fun because the game isn't really THAT hard, it's mostly just punishing and can be lethal if you play like an idiot. It's definitely a really fun game to mess around with though.

A lot of the conflict in this game seems to be because no one can have a normal conversation. Brad and Rando could have talked it out after the motorcycle incident. Heck, I don't even know how old Buddy is. Plus, they keep saying Brad was a bad parent, but the game didn't show it.

The game shows that Brad is a bad dad several times. Including the scene where he nearly beats Buddy to death because she decided she doesn't hate Marty.

@@GalaxiaStars No, you attack Marty while Buddy stands in the way because the game doesn't let you talk like a normal person would. Brad could have taken Buddy away first, then killed Marty later, but lazy writing doesn't allow.

@@ianalvord3903 No at one point during the fight Brad keeps fighting after Marty is killed. And As a result Buddy is forced to fight Brad back. This is how she loses her eye and why she has bandages over her right eye in Joyful. And it's not exactly lazy writing in that case. Lazy writing does exist yes but that doesn't really apply here. You can disagree with the direction a story went with for a character without that meaning the writing itself was bad. The reason Brad didn't communicate his insecurities was because he chose not to. He was more invested in being his idealized version of a tough guy defender that he wanted to be for Lisa than he was in actually protecting Buddy. Plus there is the fact that he isolated Buddy from the world for years before finally letting her outside, which was meant to be proof of Brad being a bad dad before his descent into more obvious abusive behavior as the game's plotline continues.

Yes, but I didn't use them in battle, which is what really would've invalidated the run. Also, by following your logic, there wouldn't be any Brad only runs, since you need at least 1 party member to proceed the game.
