Hey Lisa, I'm enjoying your vids! I'd love to hear more on how you deal with petting in public, treat offers, children, and other typical matters for a service dog. So, I actually have a son who fought with mild ASD, mostly severe ADHD, and I actually serviced trained my Doberman for the task, to go to school with him. She scares people at first glance, but as part of her continued training, I take her places. Only occasionally do I get grumpy employees that try to refuse her entrance. I didn't do an 'official' PAT test with her, but I had another service dog trainer observe and he was simply shocked how good she was. But I trained her to go to a school full of kids! The hardest part is everyone wanting to pet her. I keep a 1ft lead attached to her if ever needed, but she is primarily off leash. I typically only have service collar on her, not a vest so I think that throws people. All the unwarranted petting is leading to her healing to other people and nudging for attention. All things with are 'cute' but against training, and it's like we go backwards sometimes.

Are service dogs allowed in the seat? Or only on the floor? I will be flying with my father and I would like for my service dog to sit on the seat between us so she can do DPT and task better. She does medical alerts for my dizziness and heartrate so she needs to smell and lick my face.

Do you recommend buying additional seats for a very large service dog? Or are there airlines that peovide additional seats to accommodate this (like they do for very large persons)? Mine is a Great Dane and I may have to fly with him in the next 6 months. I have never flown before so I dont really know what to expect, and I am not looking forward to it. 😖 Is there an airline you might recommend over another for traveling with such a large service dog? Thanks!

Is it good to gibe a SD CBD or will that mess up their tasking? Or should we not expect our dog to task while on a flight?

If your dog has a lot of energy a good exercise session would be good before the flight.
