I married at 37. I was following the Lord and had great adventures with God and thoroughly enjoyed my singleness. I led a life of purity. Lead many missions trips, went to Bible school in Tulsa, OK and in Sweden. Life has been an adventure. I met my husband while on the mission field in Scotland. Had came to the point of submitting my singleness to God and being willing to be single all my life...then in walks my husband. I understand what he was saying about expectations of others. Around 26, I decided that I should be married, talked to God about just go finding any guy. God asked me if I was willing to to throw away all the time I have waited for God's man, to be stuck with someone who didn't serve God. I decided to wait. It was a season of preparation.

Society today, even many christians, view singleness as a problem to be fixed, yet the Apostle Paul actually considers it a blessing! We should all pray to the Father to give us revelation on what His will for our individual life is and strength for us to choose His will instead of our own.

Peace be unto you. It always is "a season of opportunity", whether we are here or there, bond or free... Ephesians 6:7-8 English Standard Version 7 rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, 8 knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a bondservant or is free. Ephesians 5:15-16 English Standard Version 15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 1 Corinthians 7:29-30 English Standard Version 29 This is what I mean, brothers: the appointed time has grown very short. From now on, let those who have wives live as though they had none, 30 and those who mourn as though they were not mourning, and those who rejoice as though they were not rejoicing, and those who buy as though they had no goods,

What an honor for your future wife to have people like Lisa and John as a family, May the Lord anoint you with a double portion, May His Favor be with you in everything you do. Great message. I’ve learn that singleness is a gift from God to mature our relationship with Jesus with a steadfast love.

What a wise young man..I wish I had that level of maturity in the Lord when I was younger instead of being in such a big hurry to be married which ended up being a huge mistake and my kids and I paid the price..I look back now at all the things I could have done like travel and see the world and talents I could have developed more...don't be in a hurry single folks..live your lives to the fullest and get closer to Jesus you won't regret it

From a Spaniard perspective (someone from Spain) I see Americans suffer so much from being single and the eagerness to get married, and the view of "something is wrong with him/her" because he/she is not going out with anybody and is not looking for a relationship. I think it might be because families in the U.S. live apart and quite far away and therefore people feel they don't have any one to count on and they get all scared if they haven't meet the right person before 30. Our way of living here in Europe is so much different. There is not that pressure I see in the U.S. Relationships just come together naturally and on many occasions are preceded by a friendship.

I may not have the finacial opportunity to go to missionary trips, but I honestly am not even called to do that…my calling has always since I was little (it is still a strong calling) to be a wife. Then not even that long ago God called me to switch churches and there I felt a profound calling to be a greeter and a part of the prayer ministry…this has been such a blessing in my life. I want to be able to be myself around my spouse I have been praying for my spouse for as long as I can remember.

Peace be unto you. Matthew 21:20-22 English Standard Version 20 When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither at once?” 21 And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. 22 And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” 1 John 5:14-15 English Standard Version 14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. Matthew 7:9-11 English Standard Version 9 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! James 1:17 English Standard Version 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.[a] 1 Peter 5:8-10 English Standard Version 8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. 10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 2 Corinthians 13:14 English Standard Version 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Yes, I can concur with the coffee date point. Even though I was looking and waiting to marry a Christian, my mom would tell me that if a man ever asks politely for a date, to say yes at least to the first date. Good point for singles today

I’m a female but I can relate to his list. I definitely want a male version of what he said. Someone who is honest but can call you out and confront you when it’s needed. That’s on my list. In a relationship if someone other than your partner is calling you out I think it’s like your partner not having your back. It looks and feels humiliating to be called out by anyone else but your partner.

The thing about the OAC business network is, you're dedicated to becoming a node of a web that works exactly like a spider web. The deeper you expand your node, the more people get entrapped and have their life's blood and energy sucked out by the dark rulers. I acknowledge that you can become a productive person and it makes you feel good and you can even enjoy bullying others for the rest of your life (to their great detriment) and that is fun, but you're doing it for the wrong ass reasons! BTW, there's nothing wrong with a tacit acceptance of evil as a part of this world, it is useful if you're able to essentially castrate it by minimizing its influence on your own life. That's what I discovered 10 years ago. If you set your priorities straight, you can avoid getting absolutely consumed and spit out by the dark side. Life is really about avoiding unnecessary suffering by being proactive in preventing the dark side from abusing you and people you care deeply for by taking the transparent road and setting those priorities! Yes, tons of maggots hate me and consider me their enemy for taking such a position, and that's most of the goddamn world, but so be it, I get to choose my path forward and this is by far, BY FAR the best path forward that I have found. Never forget, family is just the cheapest way for the OAC state to raise its workers, it does all the work for them, for free! But a community on the same page doesn't benefit the state in any way, yet gives its members more and better quality service than a billionaire would receive. There is a world of difference between having the goal of qualitatively improving your life and quantitatively improving - the method the state uses. Profit is not the best motivator, particularly because the benefit is a rapidly depreciating asset, yet everyone falls for it.

Is he married now? Sorry his story about not sleeping in the master’s bedroom sounds a little funny, reminds me of our wealthy 64 single uncle in România who built himself a big house, didn’t want to “taint” the house or something by totally moving in so he put his bed 🛌 in the hallway and slept there instead and suffered a massive heart attack and died suddenly. You are worthy of the bedroom!

Marriage and being single each have their pros and cons. You have your things you are looking for in another; then God maneuvers people in and out of your life and your would be lists while great for being a guide in the absence of other guidance is good when put over flying blind but the lists come to naught when God breathes another into your life. So, have your list but too much adherence to the list will leave you setting the bar too high and you will shorten the list as years wax on. Shorten the list to begin with and you wont miss out on so much opportunity when a potential good significant other comes into your life.
