Don't stop teaching! You are one of the few women teaching. It's really helped me. I had a major life disappointment last year. Have complex cptsd too from childhood. You have helped me so much. Your words are comforting. My thinking and thoughts have caused me so much trouble. I just needed to wait. Do nothing sometimes. See what happens Yep it's easily misinterpreted. I've had so much trauma in life and your teaching has totally helped me. I've been parentified as a child and have a skewed idea of responsibility- that everything is my fault. I am learning now to discern what is the other person's responsibility. And not taking things personally is great.

So many teachers and teachings strip the humanness from our lives. If ND is to appeal to the masses, it has to find its heart. People, suffering in today’s insane & often heartless world, need to heal. Being told over & over by yet another ‘enlightened’ person on KZbin that you don’t exist and neither do your problems is pretty shitty. ND is not addressing the real issues of living in today’s world sufficiently tbh. It’s getting nauseating watching all these teachers pop up on social media all the time, merely repeating the same thing just said in a different way. Some are just kids! @@PCP111-m6m ND addresses all those beliefs you think are true that you, and this other commenter who is reinforcing that belief, and neither of you has inquired into those beliefs. You haven’t inquired into those beliefs but here you are still reinforcing them instead. You’re still not inquiring into those beliefs, but obviously you are here reinforcing those very beliefs. If anyone “needs” a teacher, it’s you, my friend. As you have yet to even begin to investigate those beliefs you think are so true. They’re not. Being told you don’t exist doesn’t help. It’s not a belief. You don’t have to rely on thoughts. Beliefs rely on thoughts. What is apparently happening is not in reliance or dependent on thoughts. It has to be seen directly that the identity is not really there.

What you are experiencing is a true awakening to "real" reality. As in "will the REAL reality please stand up!" Teach what you learn from exploring that from now on. Teachers are quitting non-duality because of the guilt they feel for knowing deep inside that it's just a story of their life but still vainly teaching others that it is THE story for all. As if they could know the mind of God objectively. As more teachers admit this, the guilt in others becomes stronger by way of the same social influence that the beginning of the story originally had for them. It is an incredibly powerful force, as we can all see by the proliferation of KZbin spirituality. Its coming full circle, thankfully, and the good news is that there is a real enlightenment that happens when you let go of ALL stories and embrace life, consciousness and experience as it is, and for the incredible gift it is!

Lisa, I remember when we met for the first time in that upstairs cafe in Tiru, however long ago that was. As we were talking, I recall being struck by the sudden realization that, wow, this woman (you) has no walls up, no subtle layers or protections, or energetics at play. It was beautiful and remarkable. You were just simply open and present. An open emptiness that was somehow entirely tangible and that in and of itself was a silent transmission beneath the words being shared in our conversation. (As you were telling me you had no answers for me, which I loved and was the best answer ever :) And yes, that direct transmission, call it what you will, is such an exquisite and powerful element of Satsang. Anyway, I, for one, hope that the infinite intelligence of the Divine orchestration has Lisa sharing and teaching for many, many moons and more. It could’ve been predicted that this was going to happen. It’s such an advanced „practice“ that beginners have to at some point become frustrated with it by believing they’ve got it and realizing that they’re still stuck. Thank you for sharing. At first, I spoke of it directly but I kind of gave up, although it always colours my language a bit, I am mostly speaking to the “person” now. It feels like I can “contribute” more from this “side of things”, with emotional intelligence, looking at beliefs, for a gradual retrievement of investment in the mind. I feel that it is God's will and I am following that in this way. The direct path is not “for everyone”. I am at ease to support anyone ready to step out of victim consciousness, that is a huge step towards reclaiming the innate freedom of our True Nature. I love the fact that you speak about this, the fact that many won't speak about it anymore, it was somewhat an “internal battle in myself for a while”. How direct can I be? And even though I have an ease to simplify and support anyone to more well-being, I am mostly just speaking from the “person” lens now. Maybe, I'll get back to more direct speaking at some point, if I feel my heart is in it. Deep Gratitude for your talk today about this precisely. I love your talk, they are supporting many, I am sure. Keep going. When I was younger and throughout my Life, there was one thing I could not do, I was not able to Lie. Now, I ”make a compromise” and speak on a personal level, to support the growth of the personality, which is often a side-effect of non-dual realisation anyway. I was reluctant to share this comment but decided to do so because I feel a relief of you speaking of non-duality, while I am not and I want to thank you for speaking. And I too, follow the bliss which is presenting another way of expression from my end, which feels like my true purpose. Hey Lisa, i just want to share my view point on this subject. First of all thanks a lot for your sharing. I used to listen a lot of talk about non duality and i have also spend Time with Amma and other great yogis I really feel that nondual speaker try to bring poeple to their level of experience, on the other hand i see those great yogi bowing to the level of experience of poeple. And even if this shift, if it happend, will not be the consequence of my personnal effort to balance my mind body and energy those effort help me to redirect this seeking energy that i cant escape, instead of destroying and become miserable i am able to maintain myself to a relative level of well being. We talked allready via Skype once, i have listen to you a lot the past years and what helped me the most is the sharing you do about the chakras and how to release energy from them, how to balance my self was a priceless sharing. Lots of gratitude, Hope you will keep sharing

There comes a time, and I think you know this very well, when non-duality as a doctrine, as a belief system, as a concept is enough. No matter how we turn it, it remains something of the mind. What we experience can be described in thousands of ways. A good example can be found in the Ashtavakra Gita: for seventeen chapters various aspects of self-development are described, in the 'language' of Vedanta or non-duality, but then comes chapter 18, the longest and most difficult chapter, in which the 'doctrine' is abandoned and it speaks of direct experience and application, viewed from the perspective of the sage and the disciple. Non-duality is only a handle, use it, but do not name it. Just keep going :)

The mind is afraid of giving up control and releasing into silence. People who aren't aware of this will fight to stay in control, or rather to stay in the ever moving treadmill of the mind. They are weirded out by someone with a silent mind. When someone is suffering and willing to try something new and unfamiliar, hoping to relieve the suffering even if that means looking silly, then they are ready for anything spiritual or non duality usually, I think. Maybe some people take to it naturally, I don't know. 20 years ago I never heard of non duality and now it's all over the internet, exposed to people who aren't ready.

Interesting. was there an initial buoyancy in the discovery of 'another possibility' that might be an answer to suffering, a way out of a suffering life? How realistic was that? Being very ruthlessly honest I'd have to admit that ND awakening 'happenings' here were subtly hijacked by the 'suffering self' as a lovely shiny object in its unpleasant landscape. 'I' was filled with hope. That hope got consistently dashed on the rocks of reality. It was, and still is to a lesser degree, very very difficult. As Jeshua the carpenter might have cried out on the cross "My God My God, Why have you forsaken me" "Can there be Wholeness and something outside of Wholeness?"

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon one of Lisa's videos for the first time. Later that day, I went to a meditation group and from the train station to the meditation center, I managed to get lost and found a bar/restaurant called Cairns. I remember thinking, "Isn't that the surname of that nonduality teacher I watched earlier on KZbin?" I thought it was an interesting coincidence.

Interesting, I’ve never felt that any “teacher” or “speaker” had any power over me as a seeker. Not saying that doesn’t seem to happen, maybe it seems like to someone teaching that they have power over others who might be asking them questions and perhaps are being completely redirected as if told to “stop” doing something they seem to be doing, or told that they must practice what they don’t want to practice, and they just so happen to listen and do stop and start doing something at the behest of a teacher that might not be meeting the seeker where they seem to be and maybe that feels like misappropriation or misuse to try to change the apparent seeker? I’m only wondering here out of curiosity. There is no longer any apparent seeking to really know anything here but when there was seeking it never felt like anyone had any power over me. I didn’t even seem to have power over me so how could anyone else have control, power, or influence on me? Good luck controlling that which seems to get very rebellious wherever there seems to be some intention to be controlling, not because it’s disliked, on the contrary that rebelliousness is quite fun and playful, it’s not vindictive or feeling threatened at all. 😆

Brilliant. This would make so little sense without previous study and lots of meditation/practice, perhaps as grounding. If folks choose to step away that can be a good thing. In the west we lack the cultural supports, but also we lack the cultural baggage. I choose few teachers, few mature teachers. You’ll know when it’s time to step aside. But noon please. I love. I don't get it. Non duality is an abstract, spiritual state. The real physical state is dual, polarized energy/matter, male/female, et. al. You cannot really verbalize what non duality is without invoking duality, language reflects the physical reality.

Non-duality points to the inseparable poles of duality. North doesn't exist without south. Forward can't exist without backward. In cannot exist without out. Foreground cannot exist without background. Light cannot exist without dark. Heads doesn't exist without tails. Thus duality is non-duality. Yin and Yang emerge from and create each other: they are "one", or more accurately, "not-two". Also, matter is also just a form of energy. If you break things down enough to atoms, then subatomic particles (protons, neutrons, electrons), and down to quarks, the matter in matter seems to be more like waves, vibrations, energy. On that level, the universe could be described as a soup or ocean of energy, always in flux, always new. What we call things are more like whirlpools or eddys currents in that sea of energy. Not truly separate objects, but a pattern temporarily occurring. So even on a physical level, there are no real, permanent, separate objects or things. It's all not-two.

Understanding non duality is pretty advanced stuff... most humans, especially western humans, are not ready yet. To implement non duality as a state of being is a death sentence unless you have people around you to keep you safe and alive. It is not a belief or a dogma or a religion or even something one can learn or even know.... it is what there is, what you ultimately are. Non duality is reality without individuation. This can be experienced in a sense, but the full experience would be something like turning into infinity.... or everything and nothing at the same time... which you already are but we have to hide it from ourselves because we're scared and not ready to handle it.... we are individuals. When you are ready, it will come.... but holding onto life will no longer be a priority for you because there will be no distinct you. So ya, not really worth teaching....just pointing at... because teaching non duality won't do anything but cause problems and confusion for those not ready. Those who are ready don't need to be taught. It's all a big game, play if you want, and you will no matter, but you're going nowhere.

Other teachers such as rupert, francis lucille , jon bernie etc are reliable and trustworthy. You have to use your discernment , and what teacher you resonate with. Non duality has become so trendy and ubiquitous online that people have jumped on the bandwagon when they should steer well clear. There was a reason why some of these teachings were not available to people without some kind of preparation. People can get fried.

We are not separate from the universe we are the universe. And so we are just as much for example a tree or a book as we are the body, or everyone else as much as the immediate body. So everyone’s achievements are just as much your achievements: you painted the Mona Lisa, you designed the Sagrada Família, you ran 100m in 9.58 seconds etc. There is no other or external it is all you/ the universe. The universe or existence could also be referred to as God, all there is is God. In the universe being us, or in us being the universe, that could also be said as we are doing this. We are being or doing our entire experience, and furthermore everything that has ever happened or will happen. It is us which identifies anything being in particular to give it individuality but when we are not doing that and furthermore regardless if we do that there is already everything free from the need for anything in particular to be identified and so everything as a whole or wholeness, absolute freedom (non-duality).
