The vocal trills were a lament in honour of the former lead singer of the band who had died. Did you notice his 21 second run? The guy has amazing breath control.

I think the look of surprise and awe on your face is the same for each of us the first time we saw this performance. The long run at the end of the song was 23 seconds of power, strength and vocal agility. Dimash is, in my humble opinion, absolutely the BEST, not just as a singer, but as a person. He is humble, kind, considerate, loves, loves his family, loves his country, loves his Dears. An altogether wonderful young man.

Carlos Abreu The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental Arab technique (or traditional qazaq singing, called Joqtaw), is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist: Brilliant! The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio. The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebyev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash - this courtesy of Carlos Abreu.

@@KTI1528 Salut! Bon chance!

Wow Carlos how howww u know so much about this song ? this is the best explanation thxs many times I even make a copy of your comments
@johnfry4501
@johnfry4501 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, well first I’m not Carlos. He posted this on one of the other sites. Everyone is interested in the vocal section after his falsetto. That is the traditional piece. It is incredibly clever. If you listen to the end of the falsetto section (opera style) , so you will hear that Dimash closes the last high note off early. It is not rounded but more ...focused. This sets up for the Qazaq lament section - which is amazing. This traditional singing is done by rapid vocal onsets. An onset is the instant you make a sound. If you breathe first you get a breathy sound. If you breathe late there is a click. If it is perfect you get a clean start to the sound. Try with saying ‘Ah’ and make that sound very clean...it is hard! Now watch Dimash. Look at how fast and how clean this is! Incredible! So to be clear Carlos Abreu, not me, posted the first comments telling all the Dears some of the history of the song. My additional information comes from watching almost every decent reaction and commentary on this video. Too many people pause and miss the big picture. My suggestion? Listen on your own first and then check out good voice teachers to understand what he is doing and then have fun watching other people say WOW! Either way enjoy!

Hi Lisa,what he did after the soprano part is ethnic and is called "trill" and after that he made the hig note, belt, key change and a fantastic run in only one breath 22,84 seconds long and believe me I've never heard anything like that live. Thanks for your reaction next one could be "Drunken Concubine + Diva Dance" a duet with Li Yugang a chinese opera singer and the mix they did with the two styles was amazing in Diva Dance Dimash starts with a growl/fry D1 and then during the duet F#7 whistle (he really is an alien).
