I tend to think less is more at all ages 😊 I’m thinking healthy skin, diet, sleep make us feel fresher than “heavy” make up 😊 I love make up that feels and looks light!

Thank you for this video. Not only for its wonderful tips, but the added humor. While I find I am guilty to many of these mistakes and learned a lot from your video, it also gave me the ‘chuckles’ I so badly needed today. Just seeing you plop that powder on your face with the 107; and your facial expressions in the “wrongs” 😂😂😂. I hope it was as fun to make as it was for me to watch 🙌🏼 Thank You, Thank you 🥰

I appreciate this so much! I match my foundation to my neck and sometimes the “makeup artist” thinks I’m crazy. Yes, it results in a lighter foundation, but like you, I can warm up with bronzer. My arms are ALWAYS darker than my face. I’ve always used a concealer in nearly the same shade as my foundation and didn’t get onto the super light under eye concealer train.

Great tips..Thanks for the tip on the concealers..I don't like my undereye too bright. To me, it a tad too light. I just bought a concealer that is usually in my shade but it is different brand. I have an idea now thanks to your tip on how to darken it some. My undereye is not as bright as yours but I would like it a shade deeper. Now I know how. Thanks. Love your tutorials..

Great recommendations for various needs. Also, showing the split screen so we can see the comparisons is so helpful, rather than you just talking about it. Good job, makeup trainer! 😃 Your style and delivery have really become professional over time on youtube. Another problem of wearing cheek products with lots of shine is that, at least for me, they can make the skin on your cheeks look leathery and kind of hard. Maybe that’s because I’m an older person, but I really think that looks unflattering and regrettably fake.

You are 100% correct regarding concealer that is too light. I have recently started using a shade just a tiny lighter than my foundation and it definitely looks more youthful on me. I have 72 yr old fine lines and texture from under my eyes to my cheeks now. I like brightness but I like not emphasizing those imperfections even more! The second I saw you on this video I thought, "Lisa's top is the color of the BK Beauty brush handles!" Such a pretty burgundy.

Do you have any recommendations on how to cover without looking like I plastered foundation on?

It is always helpful to watch these because so many people go for the latest "fad" even if it looks terrible on their complexion. I think its important to enhance your features rather than make the make up the focus of attention. Specifically the use of bright blushes and highlighters to the extreme.. many folks just look clown like these days!

I tend to use a really light concealer and then go over it with whatever foundation is left on my sponge to create a gradient. I feel like it looks more natural that way. I've seen a LOT of people looking like racoon negatives because they're so WHITE all around the eye area, but their foreheads and cheekbones are nice and bronzed. It really does look a little... eek! I used to be one of those people, but I since learned that I can get away with a light concealer as long as I apply it very lightly and then go back over it with whatever foundation I happen to have left on my brush or makeup sponge. Then I just work from the lower part of the undereye upward so that it's lighter closest to the eye and gradually blends into the color of the foundation. It works super well for me.

This question has foxed me for a long time … I am (in MAC terms) warm undertone (pink), very pale skin (NW15/17 territory)… what should I do to choose a foundation for when I fake tan? I only go upto jawline with the tan as I can’t deal with how drying it is on the face… do I choose a colour to match my tan (cool undertone I presume in Mac terms), or do I just go say 2 shades deeper of my actual skin tone? Help!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

People using the wrong foundation formula is one of my pet peeves. Oily skinned people who want "glowy" skin will choose a glowy, moisterizing formula for dry or combo skin and then complain they are greasy at the end of the day. They need to stick to the correct foundation formula, then glow it up with glowy powder and highlighters. Also agree with the brightening concealer. I use a light application of full coverage concealer, let it set on its own. Then pinpoint with a thinner"pen" type concealer or brightner on strategic areas, not all over the undereye. And I don't set directly under the eyes because I know I will be dusting on a light shadow under my eyes and that will set it. I will lightly set the inner and outer corners only with a powder two shades lighter than my skintone because powder can sometimes darken when it comes into contact with moisture or oil.

Lisa, this video is what i have needed all along!! So hard to know how to add glow back in the right areas instead of using a glowing sunscreen or primer to look fresh and young. Learning so much and am watching this video over and over, its perfect 👍 yay! 😊. Anna from New Zealand 🇳🇿. Also, im buying the loreal nude foundation serum, how do you go with that foundation in the hot humid weather? We are in summer here and wondering how to set it? X

Hi Lisa, I have the BK beauty + Angie brushes and the BK 101 foundation brush. When I emailed customer support about a foundation brush before purchasing, it was recommended I get the 101 brush. I find it doesn’t blend out the foundation super smooth. I use the It cosmetics CC cream. My damp beauty blender seems to do a better job. I’ve noticed in all your videos you always use the BK106 foundation brush. Why is that? Did I get the wrong brush???

Lisa, your videos are very informative. Could you PLEASE do a video on different makeup removers. I am sure I am not alone with having great difficulty in finding the right one! Oil based, cream based, micellar water? Sometimes trying to take off eye makeup is so difficult, my eye lids hurt! Thanks for considering doing a video on removing makeup!!!!

Which drugstore brand peach concealer do you recommend? I am 57 and just developed dark circles under my eyes. And do you know why people are highlighting the tip of their nose???
