Why don't they try to catch the people doing the graffiti and make it against the law to deface property like this charge them or their parents a big fine I'm sure their parents will be so stressed about having to pay that money that they will make sure they never do it again, because it makes the area that it's found in look cheap and run down.

It's very hard to catch people doing it since it's very fast and when they catch them they are fine they go to court and do community service also. Personally I wish there were more spaces to do it legal

@@BurningFlag It gives the city character I dont think it makes it look cheap. Paris and all over Spain is the same. Yes it does need to be controlled more even if they put up cameras though it would be hard to catch them and if the community steps up and calls police on them that might help but again still some will get away with it. The government could take people in prison and train them to paint and make this apart of their sentence to do community service. Cheap labor and having a consistent team out there repainting will help keep it down to minimum but I think that would be the most you could to control it. Graffiti really is a problem everywhere!

The consequences for doing it are too light and don't deter people. It's gotten to a state where there are graffiters coming from other countries to vandalise our city. This seems to have become an issue in numerous places around the World, but Portugal is likely worse due to legislation changes in recent years. We need to go back to punishing vandalism a little more harshly. Right now it's inconsequential.
