Lisbon Volvo B59 buses, elevadores & metro in 1991 part 3

I really miss this buses... their engine and airbrake sound was great... i've made a lot of journeys on them... and their strength on Lisbon hills... Besides they were in my opinion the first "modern" buses on the city... because all the other buses were from 1940's, 50's and 60's despite they're great nolstagies and sounds... they couldn't live forever as public transport..

I presume these B59s had rear-mounted powertrains, correct? Because that is the configuration. Volvo buses in the 1970s had three configurations: B57 - front mounted powertrain B58 - mid-mounted powertrain (this was most common; evolved into B10M and B12M) B59 - rear-mounted powertrain (although produced for only 10 years, from 1970-80, the B10R did evolve out of this model nonetheless)

@KimB10M I wonder why the original B59 had a short run compared to the B58/B10M and the B10R, the latter of which eventually succeeded the B59?
