Thank you so much for sharing! This was so fun to watch, listening to you get excited about your book and that "one like I like each day" thing is so clever to keep yourself motivated. I often start to feel the writing is all bad halfway into writing a book, so I'm going to try this habit and see if it stops me from spiralling down the impostor syndrome slide. Your book sounds super interesting, too!

I admit that I do less well at keeping up with my one line as I go on 🤣 but it does motivate me because with every chapter I find that I try harder to put a line like that into the book. So if I don’t get one into a chapter I know at least that I still tried hard to do it. But I hope trying that helps you! Because I do tend to feel that way halfway too 😅 but now I at least know that there’s a few lines that I’m really proud of

I love the idea of choosing a quote you are proud of, I think I will do it too to motivate myself!

I recommend it!! It also helps me make sure there’s a line I like in each chapter too, which gives me something to feel good about at the end of each drafting session

I'm enjoying all the talk about your new series. But what I like best is your motivation and excitement to write it. It makes me motivated to keep working on my own draft. Thanks for sharing!

I’m so happy it’s motivating you too! I honestly love this series a lot and so even though it’s always a bit daunting to start a new book, I’m excited

I’m happy you like them! It’s always a bit rough in first drafts but I’m happy I’m getting in lines that I like. Excited for the first book to be out ☺️

any chance you can make more how-to writing videos on writing sequels/series? Things you've learned or are learning? Most videos are about writing standalone books, but sequels/series are completely different.

I plan to make one! I think because I had only written one series before I didn’t feel very “qualified” to talk about writing series. But at least now as I’m working on my second I think I probably have enough to share. I have it currently slated for November since it takes me a while to organize how-to videos and I’ve already got a couple others coming up.
