She's right. Freestyle did start all sounding the same by 89 and 90. But House music is what killed Freestyle. Once House music took off, it took all the Freestyle fans with them.

The original 92 WKTU is classic. 103.5 WKTU does not come close.

103.5 The New KTU was excellent when they first signed on in early 1996. I can't really compare it to the original 92 KTU because I was only a baby back then. But I did listen regularly in the late 90's and early 2000's and KTU was an awesome station. They were truly customized for New York City and they filled a huge void that we had in NYC radio at that time. They were playing a mix of Disco classics, Freestyle favorites, 80's & 90's dance hits, and fresh new dance & pop hits. Then as the 2000's went on they really become much more generic and they dropped most of the classic music that I used to love.
