IRL decor tip: get furniture that goes with several aesthetics!! For example, if your new sofa is versatile, then you can swap out blankets+pillows etc. when you want to change the decor, it's a LOT easier and cheaper than getting new furniture! Plus you don't need to commit to a single style forever; if you notice that something isn't working for you or you grow tired of it in the long run you can just tweak it with the smaller decorative items. Idk maybe this is obvious to some ppl but it was a revelation to me lol. Thanks for the vid & happy autumn!!

the big yards in the front are actually from “animal crossing: happy home designer” on the DS!! i have that game along with new leaf and it’s so much fun to play. that game is what made love new horizons so much, because you get to freely design the animals’ homes and yards, but with new horizons you can only do the exterior.

I'm realizing that the greatest islands are those that tell indirect stories! Like having a strong concept of a trick or treat neighborhood to invoke the feeling of trick and treating specifically - is such a unique take! It brings a very specific vibe to the design, even if you don't get it, you will feel a vibe

tl;dr with irl decor: look at what youre falling in love with a lot already, then start doing it intentionally honestly i have never been able to commit to a particular decor style irl, not even a color scheme. i love cottagecore, i love pastel, i love maximalism, but i end up just getting or throwing out whatever im feeling atm. the way i ended up getting any idea of an overarching theme is from looking at what i already got by instinct, and then doing it intentionally. by looking at what i already have and use, i like to pair a pattern with a solid, i like light blue, bright yellow, and dark red, and no amount of cute will make me use things that are uncomfortable or incovenient, so i purposely look for soft, washable materials that include those three colors and are a mixture of patterned and plain.

When my fiancé and I first moved in together, I was in the same boat as you! I’m an Art Hoe and he is not as in-tune with aesthetic as I am haha. Honestly my advice is to just slowly incorporate the design elements that you like into the new place…my man came around to a lot of ideas when he could actually see it IRL and not just through Pinterest pictures.

Honestly, its been so easy to deco with donnie because his aesthetic is very minimalist and earthy so it basically goes hand in hand with cottage core/fairy tale esk decor. He basically lets me do whatever i want tbh.

I feel you liss! My Girlfriend loves Rock/Dark style, I really like Pastels and ‘Kawaii’ things. So, we included everything! On her side of the room she has her Drum Kit, Keyboard and Posters, on my side of the Room I have my Plushie shelf, microphone and Desk! My advice for decorating a place is just find some really unique big pieces, like a couch or desk, things like that. And then just go from there! Colors are really important too so maybe find a color your boyfriend and you both love!

To me the whole halloween vibe isn’t just everything being scary cause be honest: a lot of houses don’t put that much effort. There’s just the small deco, the candy bowl, ykno. Just simple. Which is why yours is perfect. It doesn’t over do it, it’s just right.

I think we have a 50/50 chance of actually hearing something about ACNH at the Direct. While we KNOW that Nintendo is working on updates and that we most likely will see Brewster and gyroids by year's end there is a good chance they could keep it under wraps until late fall/early winter and just toss us the small update we need to unlock Halloween next month. I am hoping we see something about Animal Crossing, but I'm not holding my breath. I know it will come eventually...but it could still be months away. I know if I was The Big N I would probably shoot for releasing a BIG update close to Christmas to generate buzz and drive up Holiday sales.
