@reiito8727 rant incoming So for the last 8 years I've basically been helping my dad out with everything. He lost his phone on the train once so I let him use mine. He needs something done? I'm there within half an hour. He needs money? Sure, here's $200. You need a lift? I'm your man. Thats how it was for the last 8 years. No matter how much he berated me when I mess up, even if I had plans, or if my car breaks down. I always had to drop everything for him. And if he didn't get his way, he'd throw a tantrum and start yelling at me, calling me names and threatens to "make me piss". So, in light of all that, last year in December, I decided I wasn't going to lend him money when he asked. A 50 year old man shouldn't be asking his 20 year old son for money, right? So he rings me, asks for $100 and I say no. He's always told me I didn't have to lend him anything, so I expected him to be amicable about it. He absolutely flies off the handle, yelling swears and insults left and right and in the middle of it all I hung up on him. A few days later, I get a text from him telling me I was a no good mutt and he's going to flog me if I talk to him again. That was last year. Since then, I've gone no contact with him and my mother and my mental health's been better than ever. Tldr: I help my dad for 8 years, he asks me for money, I say no the one time, he blows up at me and I go no contact.
