Primarchs have a reputation to uphold, they are not the regular joe shmoe that has a standard power armor, they are the gene sires of the astartes warriors and therefore they should be clad in a way specifically designed for each one of them. Each have their own strengths & weaknesses and their powers must enhance their talents and not subdue or lessen them. So here in this video we will discuss each of the demi gods own unique armours, with many of them being artificers and terminator suits that have been personalized and reconfigured to fit these huge beasts among men.

Guilliman's GC and Heresy-era armor was called the Armor of Reason, and he actually had it upgraded and improved on multiple times by more tech-savvy Primarchs such as Vulkan and Perturabo to make it as useful as possible. Also, it's crazy to think that the Ultramarines modt likely still have Curze's original armor just lying sround somewhere in Macragge.

Ive always seen most of Primarch armors being scaled up and bespoke "Artificer Cataphractii Terminator Armors". With the main difference being the size of the engine/power pack likely taken off a Contemptor or equivalent Dreadnought. The "Cataphractii base" is seen on Horus, Perturabo, Ferrus Manus and Vulcan more often. Basically the largest Primarchs. Sometimes they draw Konrad Kurze with a Cataphractii look but I've always felt thats wrong. Others have a Cataphractii inspiration with perhaps one or both pauldrons flatter and double paneled unlike the Tartaros or regular Terminator armors. You can see this on Fulgrim and Alpharius although those armors are far more unique and specifically those two I see leaning more towards a Tartoros look. You even have an image in the video with Fulgrim sporting a football/Tartaros looking shoulder pad on the side without the wing. Jakathai, Dorn, Angron and Sanguinius have more unique gilded and bronzed armors. Theyre far lighter looking and I usually have a hard time finding power packs/engines. Corvus needs to fly and be stealthy so I always thought it stupid when people drew him with bulkier terminator looking armor. Magnus has 'make pretend' armor. Guillimans armor artworks remind me of Centurion armor but his model is far more grounded. That leaves Mortarian and the Lion, the British Europeans, who are also somewhat unique yet also less. Mortarian is pretty cool with his steampunk engines and I've thought of him as a 'tougher guy' so I really dont know what the "base" armor would be. While the Lion is perfect knight armor for sword fighting. Like middle weight, middle protection. Its a beautiful armor but likely the least unique. Oh yeah Lehman Russ has armor likely extremely similar to the Lion.

Backpacks? Well initially what we know as "back packs" were jump packs, and jump packs were really flight packs. In other words, marines did not need their packs, and officers didn't have them unless they needed to jump. It all gets nurfed before 2nd edition. See Compendium. Its such a shame because its such a cool idea to have space marines fighting in actual space. I actually designed my own chapter based around this concept. But, alas, I don't think there's any lore that shows Sanguinius fighting in space. :/
