Thanks for checking this out Jim! I’m one of the guitarists here (with the red guitar). You reacted to one of my own tunes a few years ago. This is very different from what I normally do, but it’s fun to play some festive Christmas music this time of year!

and I'll have to check another video, because I only know 1 other prog band with electric violin and cannot remember, that the violinist had the same .. belt ? Other than that I only know the wellknown ladies as Vanessa Mae, Lindsay Stirling and Mia Asano. There are also violins in folk, folkmetal and "fun metal" bands as the german Feuerschwanz 🤣🤘

I'm at minute 7 and I get the feeling that this is why punk had to happen. 2 hours of this? No thanks. Sorry to be such a Grinch but Bah! Humbug. (Fast forwards) Eek! It gets worse! I expect there'll be some jazzy sax in part 2.

I hated punk but punk is more or less dead and progressive rock survived. Hard rock died too more or less but as a phoenix from the ashes, heavy metal came to earth NWOBHM.

Bah humbug indeed! I’m sorry you don’t like it, but it’s Christmas, this is music for everyone. It’s not trying to be cutting edge, new or dangerous. Sometimes music has to be comfortable and snug, and Christmas is exactly the right time of year for that! You’ll be relieved there is no sax or accordion. There might be some sleigh bells though!!! I bet you don’t have a Christmas jumper either Ken! Lol 🤣

@@JimNewstead Em...I'm still looking for the right one. Meanwhile, I'm not really a Grinch though my favourite Christmas song is 'No Christmas' by The Wedding Present which is not at all Christmassy but they needed a song to release in December. What I've heard of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra hasn't thrilled me either. Comfortable, snug and Christmassy? (Thinks for a long time) Marillion's Carol of the Bells is quite good. Does Spock's Beard's 'Snow' album count?🎅

@@palantir135 I'm one of these weird people who love prog but really enjoyed first wave punk. It is mostly prog I listen to these days though, maybe 10% metal, 5%punk and 10% other mixed genres.
