If I could vacation wirh anyone, it would be the Meyers family.

Oh my god same, they seem like the most loving and functional family and I’d kill for one of those. I want Hillary and Larry to adopt me.

Josh writing angry letters on a consistent basis is the Larry Meyers character arch reveal I have been waiting for! Congrats on getting published!

Oh my god the Olympics spoilers drove me nuts. I kept getting breaking news alerts on my phone from different news outlets and it totally spoiled the prime time broadcasts for me. Thank you for speaking truth to power Josh ✊

Seth - here's the must have Greek mythology book for your son - D'Aulaires Book of Greek Myths - I had this book when I was a kid and it instilled a love of the Greek mythology for my entire life. The illustrations are fantastic!

The American River story told by Scott is fantastic! I listened then had to come back a week later to listen again. 😂😂😂😂

There's a Barnegat light house in NJ. That's as close as I can imagine for your mom. Barney Gette seems like an imitation French restaurant. Love listening to your podcasts.

I would 100% watch a reality TV show about the Meyers parents--"Keeping Up With the (Hil)Larries." At least we need a weekly podcast of them doing the New York Times news quizz....

YES. THIS. PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

OMG YES! Larry is my husbands favorite Meyers... I think because he feels so seen by Larry's rants and I am very "there there" about his. I am sure Hilary is similar because how else are wives supposed to survive? Is this a life or death situation? Then calm them t*ts and take a deep breath about how the grocery store was out of your preferred yogurt.

As a librarian I feel compelled to share that audiobooks are officially books, and listening to them is a form of reading 😊 Many of our patrons read in different formats, and we have many blind and dyslexic library patrons read via audiobook! So Seth, feel free to call it “reading a book”, and if you like you can clarify the form/format as listening/audiobook 📚 So, no judgments of any kind please 😂

Hi. I’m the parent of identical twins. You guys seem to be the Yin and Yang of each other in a kinda twin way, contrasting and complementing each other. One extroverted and activist, one more contemplative and introspective. One likes the Grand Canyon, one doesn’t. One is ‘more heathen’ than the other. One lives in the farthest west in LA, one in the farthest east in NY. One cold place, one hot place. One says ‘Oh my god’, the other says ‘for the love of god’. One has darker skin, one has lighter skin. One starts the jokes, one finishes them. One has kids, one doesn’t. Interesting. My twins are exactly the same.

This was really good, and I really enjoyed it. Don't tell anyone I was here. --Anonymous Jackal P.S. Seth, remember Futurama's "The Scary Door" bit, where the Burgess Meredith character whines "It's not fair!" when he finally has time to read, but breaks his glasses? Then he says, "My eyes aren't that bad; I can read the large print editions." Then his eyes pop out of the sockets. "Not fair! But it's good that I can read Braille." Then his hands fall off. He starts to whine about that, and his toungue drops from his mouth. Then his whole head falls off. The takeaway is . . . irony. And that we Jackals should stop complaining about hiatuses, and just watch the damned podcasts, or even worse may befall us.

Josh-thanks so much for your angry letter to WaPo about Olympics spoilers. I totally agree. NY Times is doing it now with the USOpen!! Some of us record and watch later-so annoying to read the results. Love your show-particularly the brotherly banter! Keep it going!!
Did anyone else think that the woman telling the story about losing her sister’s glasses was Sarah Vowell?!
@andrewgreenwood6233Ай бұрын
Absolutely.
@andrewgreenwood6233Ай бұрын
And Sarah Vowell would be a brilliant guest on this show-huge traveler and historian and great story teller. She’d be great.

You aren't missing anything with cruises. Though I might do an Alaskan cruise or a Nordic cruise. But my spouse and I did a long weekend cruise in the Caribbean. Never again. ETA: we went into it expecting that we might enjoy it.

There's a monopoly card game that takes significantly less time (10-30 minutes per game for us). Easy to play with kids too. Definitely recommend.

Hear me out. You should have a actual interview with some listeners like Margie, I would listen to her stories way more than the Foster sisters'.

Ah yes. I’d be happy to share many many of my stories as a guest. Any time. I’m not Sarah Vowell oh. My sister may join us with her seeing eye dog. ( just kidding!). Margie B
