Yea there's something really interesting and paradoxical about how most bladee (and dg generally) albums are very different but they are all very clearly/distinctly "drained" everytime. I think it's a demonstration that any individual song/style/genre is more of a tool that they're employing towards a greater goal, even if the goal has changed over the years. Some people just like the music, some people think there's a great message. I don't think anybody is really fully understanding or giving enough credence to what they're doing w/ this music. Esp as they've gotten better with experience (+ working together), been able to build this kinda lore + culture for their fanbase, and further develop their "goals." You are right about me having the correct opinion tho, esp w/ my Mandala explanation for the "phenomenology" of their music that only will get more unanimously understood. Bladee's understanding that its more about the experience than the song is why it tends to not be immediately accessible like pop music, and feels difficult to recall bc the impact of all the parts is more implicit in the overall experience.

glue is basically a drain gang “baptism”. Im not the first or last person to hear that deletee sounds like a church song+ once it clicks and you truly understand the emotion that is present then everything else he released sounds even 10x better

Man I love this magical trance meditative digital vibe of earlier Drain music so much. You can tell they love all sorts of electronic music with the way Gluee moves from club-y beats to more vibey synths...Honestly feel like Drain Gang has kept exploring their love for electronic music all throughout their discography even when there were drainers who didnt vibe with it as much (Good Luck era they could never make me hate youuu) Anyways Gluee is in my Top 3 Bladee albums FOR SURE !!

My first ever Bladee album that I *EXPERIENCED* and it was quite a first impression for me back then. It is kinda hard to get into at first but after multiple listens, the whole record can grow on you. But I guess that's the whole theme of listening to/experiencing Bladee's entire discography, you just need time for that man's music and art to fully bloom inside you.

listen to crack cloud$ over arts kitchen by black kray, its from the same era of cloud rap as gluee and is really good, alot more wall of sound-ey like you said. my magic is strong is also a single from bladee's 2013 soundcloud era that is crazy good and ahead of its time

This whole album is a mix of fantasy themes (medieval fantasy like magic, swords, spells, etc), being sad, and street shit (hip hop was so much more street around this time) like his "see me aiming at ur face" or "put him back inside his grave" lines. You have to understand all of that and understand that it was made at a different time in hip hop, in the middle of a transition period from everyone switching from listening to the old school Kanye West, Dipset, 50 Cent, Lil Jon, Paul Wall, etc. to listening to Lil Uzi, 21 Savage, Lil Yachty, Future, etc. This was all highly experimental at the time and that combined with the rawness of the production plus it being part of the first wave of cloud rap mixed with trap is what made it incredibly interesting and fresh at the time.

if you want something further in this direction from his even earlier work you really should listen to GTBSG compilation, it has work from the other members but it’s mostly bladee, it’s him at his most experimental and it’s definitely vital to the entire bladee experience in the same way that gluee is in my opinion, especially if you enjoyed how abstract this album was

I literally had a lucid dream with some of the tracks from Gluee in the background paired with trippy visuals It was like a futuristic city with teleportation devices and tubes like means of transport, and visually it was a mix between realistic, cartoony, with a lot of wacky 360° rotation with the camera and a literal section where it transitioned to a platform game all this with gluee in the background just for that reason it's stays in my fav it's that powerful.. and even though this sits at n1 for me..Bladee is constantly improving, I will not disregard that... but this project is just so special and a massive grower..it doesn't feel real to me Shadowhouse be hitting fr yeah I never got Freeze hate honestly completely agree A lot of these tracks were referenced in the recent cold visions _______ Btw you should definitely check out Gluee II(it's a bootleg release and not official but a a great compilation of early songs) or maybe just check out single songs Bladee in the gluee era like Oxygen

you could do a bladee - rainworld it's a unreleased album that was first supposed to come before gluee then it was reworked after gluee to become eversince but got scrapped although some songs made it into eversince, it's the same vibe as this one but a lot more drained in the production and delivery it's haunting almost
