Man there are so many bangers from Hail to the Thief that you're missing! My personal favourite Radiohead song ever is 2+2=5, but there's also A Wolf at the Door (Thom spiting out lyrics like venom) Myxomatosis (disgusting bassline) Sail to the Moon (hypnotic groove) We Suck Young Blood (most brooding Radiohead track ever written) I Will (2nd most brooding Radiohead track ever written) Where I End and You Begin (gothic dance music) Go To Sleep (Radiohead does the Smiths) and Sit Down Stand Up (an ever evolving electronic soundscape up there with the best of Kid A)
@ricardobernardofardo7397Ай бұрын
W Vid Here are some recommendations: *Other genres:* Aphex Twin: Very weird but would be fun, and his discography is fire (and remember to check out his EPs. or AT LEAST Windowlicker) Björk: She's essential Quadeca: (This one is a little long so brace yourself: Quadeca is my personal favorite artist) So Quadeca has had an incredible progression/evolution throughout the years. His earlier albums were pretty corny, and cringe. They were kinda like “fast rap” albums, with trap beats and a lot of ad libs. If you want to skip the filler albums, go to Voice Memos. That's where the progression and the overarching story leading his next concept albums REALLY begin, even if it isn't a great album. (Also check out the From Me To You Deluxe!) His album that is most praised is I Didn't Mean To Haunt You, and I just want to give you some context on the concept of the album. I don't consider this spoilers, it's just very integral to the intended emotional experience of the album, and it could be missed, but on the album, Ben (his real name) had committed suicide, and is now in a state of purgatory as a ghost. The actual story line can be interpreted in different ways though. Also the track “fantasyworld” is a flashback, and Danny Brown is rapping from the perspective of carbon monoxide on "house settling". Please check him out 🙏 James Blake: He's great I guess *Rap:* A Tribe Called Quest: Legendary group, one of the most important acts in hip hop ngl, if u haven't listened to them yet somehow, they're a great place to go for rap. Pusha T + Clipse: Multiple classics JPEGMAFIA + Devon Hendryx: Would be interesting if you haven't listened to his music yet Won't get into artists too obscure or niche, I'll recommend interesting artists that would make great videos instead. I also feel like all these artists are pretty consistent.

a lot of ok computer is about thom's relationship with and fear of technology. It's funny that you said that Amnesiac was a step up from Kid A cause they were both recorded at the same time. Radiohead made so many songs that they had to split them into two albums. It had lyrics to some songs from Kid A, Amnesiac and even Hail To The Thief

Very interesting discography on which you could have very mixed feelings on Kanye West: Pretty long, but very consistent Discography. In my opinion the best discography of all time. A lot of classic albums, but very different albums. Every album has a different style and some are very experimental Tyler, The Creator: From very controversial albums to very beloved albums. His albums are also experimental and have a original style, for example Cherry Bomb and Igor. No one before Tyler made the music he does. Hope you dig into any of these discographies🔥🔥🔥

Great video! Hail to the thief is not the most cohesive but I feel like it's one of their most diverse. There, there is imo one of the best songs Thom has ever written. I also think songs like 2+2=5 and Wolf at the door are amazing. There are lesser tracks on it but overall I feel it's the most underrated album in their discography and to me it's much better and more interesting than TKOL or PH. Would be great if you could listen to Kate Bush discography.
@jameshannagan4256Ай бұрын
They could probably fill another 3 albums with really good non-album tracks. they're so particular with the album sequencing and overall emotional state, that they ended up leaving a lot of worthy songs off their albums. In all the years iv'e been an avid fan of music iv'e never seen a band that has so many good tunes that are not on any albums. If you ever want to dig into their singles and b-sides just let me know. There's a fair amount of off the wall stuff that's cool too, the songs from Kid A and Amnesiac come to mind (I love the Amnesiac b-sides).

you got a lot of the messages of the albums correct, ok computer is about the commercialisation of our society, and kid a is indeed about global warming and apocalypse, since the leader thom yorke was extremely paranoid of global warming and melting ice caps back then. radiohead actually became the first carbon neutral band in the world, back in 2002

I love how spontaneous and stripped back it is though. They banged it out in one studio session and it definitely shows. Kid A vs OK Computer has historically been the "which is their best" battle between fans. I used to be firmly in the Kid A camp (and still kind of am I think) but OK Computer has *really* warmed up to me over the past few years. we have very similar opinions around radiohead, a moon shaped pool is def top tier. i flip flop my ranking for favorite album between kid a amsp ok computer and in rainbows. i don't love the bends except for planet telex, and find hail is massively overrated and that kol is overhated. you should listen to and rank all of thom yorkes solo albums and the smile next if you want to keep the journey going:)

Pink Floyd and tool next. Similar to Radiohead in their respective genres

Defo try Pink Floyd, one of the best bands ever. You probably could stop after The Final Cut tho because the band lost a few members afterwards and weren’t really that great

If there's any band where you can put multiple albums in S-tier, it's Radiohead.This was a fun watch, Pablo Honey on par with the bends/ above HTTT is a hilarious take but fair do's. I still enjoy it, but it's the lowest rated for me, and most of the fans.

If you get a chance, you should listen to The Strokes' discography. You'll probably love albums like Is This It, Room On Fire, and The New Abnormal
