I remember an interview years ago when Buffet was asked about the meaning of Cheeseburger in Paradise. He told the story of a boating incident where the boat motor was disabled. The people on the boat, including himself were restricted to a diet of canned goods and peanut butter. While doing that he dreamed of a big fat juicy cheeseburger. When they finally made it back to civilization, there was a small place to eat near the dock. He ordered a cheeseburger but it really looked bad. The meat and the bun appeared burned but he said it was the best cheeseburger he ever had.

Marie, in popular English the word "head," added to another word, is often used to mean thoughts, inspirations, attitudes, interests or mindset. For example, the British use the term petrolhead to refer to somebody who is into cars and motorcycles and such. In America, we use the terms gearhead or motorhead for car guys. The US state of Wisconsin is known for its dairies and people there call themselves cheeseheads. So, Jimmy buffet fans are called Parrotheads because we're inspired by Jimmy's attitude of tropical beaches, sunny skies, calm oceans, relaxed fun and fruity drinks with little umbrellas. And we absolutely do wear parrot hats,... and pirate hats and shark hats, and cheeseburger hats and margarita hats and.... Your hat is a great one! When you wear it to one of Jimmy's concerts you'll fit right in.

Jimmy Buffett Lyrics "Cheeseburger In Paradise" Tried to amend my carnivorous habits Made it nearly seventy days Losin' weight without speed Eatin' sunflower seeds Drinkin' lots of carrot juice and soakin' up rays But at night I'd have these wonderful dreams Some kind of sensuous treat Not zucchini, fettuccini, or bulgur wheat But a big warm bun and a huge hunk of meat Cheeseburger in paradise Heaven on earth with an onion slice Not too particular, not too precise I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise Heard about the old-time sailor men They eat the same thing again and again "Warm beer and bread," they say, "could raise the dead" Well, it reminds me of the menu at a Holiday Inn But times have changed for sailors these days When I'm in port I get what I need Not just Havanas or bananas, or daiquiris But that American creation on which I feed Cheeseburger in paradise Medium rare with Muenster'd be nice Heaven on Earth with an onion slice I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise I like mine with lettuce and tomato Heinz 57 and French fried potatoes Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer Well, good god almighty, which way do I steer... ...for my cheeseburger in paradise? Makin' the best of every virtue and vice Worth every damn bit of sacrifice To get a cheeseburger in paradise To be a cheeseburger in paradise I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise I like mine with lettuce and tomato Heinz 57 and French fried potatoes Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer Well, good god almighty, which way do I steer?

You got it right the first time! "Pear-et-head." I have a modest suggestion for Buffett reactions: react to lyrics videos from his studio albums rather than live 60+ years old Jimmy. I can't understand him either, lol. (wont pretend I have any understanding of what you go through as a reactor dealing with copyright or related issues, and I'm sorry if my suggestion sounds presumptuous) Anyway, your understanding of the parrot-head subculture and it's rabid fans is obvious and very endearing. Jimmy Buffett's music is all about a slow and easy, take tie to enjoy life, Caribbean lifestyle. You don't have to read anything into the lyrics of his songs. It's much better, and more fun, to take them at face value. He has even written a novel, ?Where is Joe Merchant?" that embraces that same lifestyle.

Nothing like live music. Been to concerts of 50 people, local band, to some with 50,000 plus people. Example: Chicago and the Beach Boys or Santana and the Doobie Brothers. Texas is slightly larger than France, but I'm sure there must be talented artists there who draw in those type of crowds, not just futbol matches. ZZ Topp will draw a crowd that size easily in Texas, as will professional football and baseball games. I know of college football games drawing 100,000 plus people, though I have never been to one with more than 70,000. So many types of "burgers" here, from Burger King to Whataburger. Cheeseburgers to your heart's desire. Hope you can visit soon.

Hey French Fry the song is about something Jimmy actually experienced. His alternate love other than music is sailing. He loves to sail the Caribbean (where my parents met him once on their sailboat). He had been out to sea around Puerto Rico in rough weather and had some damage to his sailboat that caused him to barley make it to a marina. While they were slowly limping the damaged boat back to shore, which took a long time, the ice box no longer worked to keep food cold so they were forced to eat only canned food and peanut butter. During this long time of trying to get to shore and eating badly all he could do is think about a hot juicy cheeseburger. They finally made it to shore and asked a restaurant owner to make them a cheeseburger, describing how they wanted them. However they ended up eating terrible overcooked horsemeat third world burgers instead, but we're very grateful anyways. The birth of a song came next.
