Listening to Taylor Swifts Debut Album for the First Time! | Hannah Beau

Im taking my niece to the Eras Tour to see Taylor Swift and I'm making it my mission to listen to every single one of her albums AND learn every song in the setlist. For the record, I have never listened to any TS record before the Eras tour hysteria. Reaction videos like this really opened me up to her world. Still only listened to Midnights and Speak Now. All i can say is I get it. She is really creative and her lyrics are relatable.

The male background vocals you hear are from Nathan Chapman. He was the executive producer on the album and you hear him backing Taylor sometimes because her voice is pretty high on this album because she was so young here so his lower vocals just helped to fill out the sound a bit. And just to note about the ending of the album, you weren't a big fan of the last 3 tracks and were a bit surprised that it would end on a song or songs that weren't the strongest so I just wanted to let you know that the album actually ends with "Our Song." "I'm Only Me When I'm with You", "Invisible", and "A Perfectly Good Heart" are deluxe tracks so with that context it makes sense that they might be three of the weaker songs on the album because they didn't actually make the regular album. And I'm assuming you have already figured this out or will by the time you do the next album but Fearless is coming next, then you'll get to Speak Now and then Red. And they all have Taylor's Versions already. Those first four albums are all her official "country" albums before she went officially pop on her fifth album 1989. Though despite being officially "country", Fearless has a lot of country-pop, Speak Now has a lot of Country-pop-rock and Red is really the transition album that is almost more pop than country in a lot of it and straight up has songs on it that are in no way country.

Staying tuned for your next album! This album is so nostalgic to me it was the start of my Taylor Swift journey. I understand its not for everÿbody. I was personally listening to her when i was a kid so thats probably why i love these songs so much. 😂

I think if you aren’t the intended age group, or weren’t around at the time this album came out it would be harder to relate to some of the songs tbh. Especially coming into it as an adult. For context though; the majority of these songs were written when she was 12-15 years old. If I remember right she was even 11 when she wrote one of them. So even 5 resonating with you is probably a pretty good start when you think of it that way lol
