yes, honestly this killing voice solidified for me how much i like jihyo's voice, it's this open quality! i love it when jihyo uses her full well rounded voice, i love singer that is properly supporting their belts and you can see how she's holding that time really really nicely. i first notice that when she joined masked singer way way back. she's quite belty in her approach and always trying to support and give like a full resonance into her singing. she also has strong onsets and strong finish, very attentive to everything she sings

i know! aside from obviously jihyo belting away perfectly, she's such a unique artist because she's an atmospheric singer. alot of artist can sing but they cant set a mood with their voice, that's why she's so great at multiple genres. yes she has that disney character voice

If I'm not mistaken, Nayeon said on her Bubble to Onces that when they record this Killing Voice video, they had to sing 2 or 3 times, including rehearsals and this actual video that uploaded, so she said her throat hurt a bit that day (maybe bcs they have to sing 100% live in this Killing Voice), it's very understandable because listen to every part of her, really high for every song 😅

I don't think people realize just HOW MUCH singing they have been doing!! They have been on tour for a year singing 3 hours each show, plus warm-ups and soundcheck rehearsals, then they have all kinds of promo stuff they do that requires singing (just like this show). I can't imagine how exhausted their voices must be at times. And yet, they have just gotten stronger and stronger over time with great vocals!

I went to Twice's Ready To Be tour in Manila last year in October and I'm telling you, THEY SOUND EXACTLY LIKE THIS. Well, of course, this is edited to perfection but I assure you, they sound like this in their concerts, plus slight voice cracks here and there which is normal because they do their choreography most of the time.

They also have this segment at the last part of the concert where they spin a wheel/roulette full of bsides and perform whichever comes off of it (Nayeon usually rigs it and just chooses which song gets the most cheer LMFAO). I got BDZ and HOT during my show and it was so good. They literally performed it without any backtrack so you can really hear them so clearly. Which is insane to me because they really sound like the og recording despite dancing during it as well. Attending a TWICE concert should be in everyone's bucket list tbh HSHSHS

All nine members have lines in the song that can be drawn back to their own personal struggles. 2019 was an especially rough year as the world threw unnecessary and ignorant hatred at the girls. maybe the general population likes flawlessness better, but as someone who sings myself, I like to see the effort I hear on the face I hear it from, idk it hits right than just trying to be "idol faced" all the time. Like if you show effort and sing, it won't make you look ugly, if anything I'd say it adds character which I'd say (hot take perhaps) a lot of kpop acts lack, more so to how they are trained than the artists themselves to be doll faced at all times. Its very live, they r so good in this session that confused some people, , in 9 years they improved alot especially Tzuyu and momo, gosh momo is like she unlocked the full potential or something like a cheat code. Omg seriously can't agree any harder lolz!! We have become OBSESSED with perfection in music with vocals and it has resulted in such a weird, lifeless, soulless product. Like, yes recordings of songs have always been far more "perfect" sounding than a straight "live take" but at least back in, let's say, the 90s they would still have the singer sound somewhat natural. They didn't add a billion levels of compression, they didn't pitch correct every single micro-second, etc. And imo it sounds soooooooo much better that way! But today, because we have added so much post-production to vocals, whenever an artist sings love they get SHREDDED by fans and the general public because they aren't used to what a real voice sounds like! It's an awful cycle and it's the reason so many idols and artists just lipsync or have heavy backing tracks-- because if they do choose to sing live they will get trashed even if they do a good job!!! I hate it lol

Yes! The voice is a muscle and sometimes it's not perfect, voices have textures and defaults and it's okay! I also love hearing artists really singing live! I also completely understand when they don't because of hard choreos!

I mean, yes I agree and I don't! Between the 70s and 90s, singers were very often just doing a play back and never singing live, in a lot of 80s "live version" stage, singers didn't even have a mic! Nowadays I think it's mainly because people and even artists themselves want to be "perfect" but perfection doesn't exist and it's OKAY! You can't fake dancing but you can fake singing so in the last few years, I feel like kpop companies really focused on dancing and performance, but wayyy less on the vocals and it SHOWS! I feel we are now going in another period with idols that are extremely talented in every aspect, forgetting the traditional roles of "rapper/dancer/visual/singer ect" but they can just do EVERYTHING which is obviously really impressive but I'm glad we can find amazing singers!
