this i think is the biggest edge of CDO / Misamis Oriental to become a metro convincingly among the rest.. from west to east part yan nang misamis oriental puro industrial company/facilities makikita.. if given a chance na magiging metro ang misamis oriental i think it should be called the Metro Industrial City of the Philippines

SMC's Magnolia Ice Cream Plant closed down many years ago after it was acquired by Nestle. The facility was then bought & converted into a water purification plant operated by Nature's Spring Water.

The economies of Manolo Fortich 43 km. as well as those of Libona 22 km., Baungon 33 km. & Talakag 36 km. are closely tied to Cagayan. All of them border Cagayan and these towns have direct access roads going to Cagayan. The metropolitan area of CDO (means the urban extent) has already crossed borders on the east, west and south of the city. The reason of Metro CDO is for economic development only to be planned by NEDA and NOT for political purposes. The political set up of the provinces, cities & towns in Metro CDO shall remain and will not change (same Congressmen, Governors & Mayors like Metro Manila).
