I just discovered Mark Viner a few days ago through a video of a live performance of Hexameron and was delighted to find two of his albums on this channel! Fantastic repertoire (I also try to promote lesser-known composers in performance) and wonderful playing. Keep up the great work!

20:04 - 20:15 I just noticed that this part is very similar to the beginning of our Chilean national anthem :)

Hexameron contains also music by Czerny and Chopin.

Hexameron is a collaborative set of variations on a March from Bellini's I Puritani. Liszt wrote one of the variations and the framing and transitional material: 1 Introduction - Liszt 2 Tema - Bellini (transcribed Liszt) 3 Variation I - Thalberg 4 Variation II - Liszt 5 Variation III - Pixis; Ritornello - Liszt 6 Variation IV - Herz 7 Variation V - Czerny; Lento quasi recitativo - Liszt 8 Variation VI - Chopin; [coda] - Liszt 9 Finale - Liszt

How long do pianists prepare for these kinds of recordings?
