Listening to Evgeny Kissin perform Liszt's 'Rhapsodie espagnole' feels like stepping into another world. The way his fingers dance across the keys and the emotions he pours into each note - it's simply captivating. I can't help but marvel at his skill and passion. His performance always manages to touch something deep within me.

DON'T FORGET THIS IS A LIVE PERFORMANCE, THE MISTAKES DON'T DEVIATE HIM FROM HIS OVERALL SCOPE AND PASSION AND GENIUS, HE HAS AN EXTRAORDINARY LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE TO BE ABLE TO HIT EVERYTHING SO HARD WITH SUCH SUPREME VISION AND INTENSITY !!! HIS INTERPRETATION IS THE GENIUS THING ABOUT HIM, HIS FINGERS NOT BEING ABLE TO KEEP UP WITH THAT MUCH GENIUS IS INCIDENTAL !!! THE DEVIATION BETWEEN THE MYSTICAL AND PHYSICAL IT'S PROBABLY LESS THAN A MILLIONTH OF A PERCENT !!! EACH NOTE CAN PROBABLY BE PLAYED A MILLION DIFFERENT WAYS WITH DIFFERENT ATTACKS AND DYNAMICS AND TIMING, SO MULTIPLY A MILLION BY HOW MANY NOTES IN THIS PIECE, AND THEN TAKE ONE NUMBER AWAY FOR EACH WRONG NOTE AND IT'S A PRETTY AMAZING PERFORMANCE OVERALL !!! IF YOU DO THE MATH !!!

@@isaacparlin3070 Fyi, I did manage to find it again, somehow! In the search field, type in “Evgeny Kissin in Japan 1991 (Movie Live)”. Posted by 192bps Sound. For a cool experience, first watch his earlier (like when he was 13 years old or something) Japan recital by typing in “Evgeny Kissin in Tokyo”. That one was posted by Yi June, & has a little better video quality than some of the other blurry ones I’ve seen. Pretty neat to see him younger first, then revisiting Japan as a 19 (or so) year old.

Isnt it interesting how these two countries are absolutely passionate about Western classical music, whereas the interest in China or SE Asia is only moderate, and the interest in India is very minimal, even though India has embraced the English language, literature and law wholeheartedly.
