I own a M2C, so I am biased, but here in the US, the CS is not depreciating-it is appreciating. A very low mileage M2CS goes for sometimes in the low six figures.

You can also put a similarly modified m2 n55 to the comparison. even cheaper, quite rough, it has its own driving feeling . Some like it some does not. Making a stg3 n55 m2 is a bargain, runs 7.5 sec 100-200kmh just like a stage 1 m2 comp and it is lighter.

Great comparison. I believe for a true car enthusiast, a modded competition is perfect. For the flippers and collectors the CS is the car.

@Baerzilla3 жыл бұрын
@@harry-io9fz and cheaper = better? I mean if cheapness is the thing that decides if a car is for enthusiasts you could just take a M240i and tune the fuck outta that. Is that then better than a M2? Or a 2015 M135i. Or a 135is. I just didn’t like the statement that a M2 CS isn’t for enthusiasts. (Since I own one and modified it...)

@@Baerzilla I own an m2 comp, paid 420 a month all in. I’m going to buy the car next year and have made money on it. 75 k is a bit steep for what is a remap and a few bits of carbon. I’d prefer pure turbos, proper suspension and I’d still be under 55k for what I paid for the car.
@Hapkin2 жыл бұрын
@@harry-io9fz it's far more than a remap with a few bits of carbon. The adaptive dampers with the carbon ceramics along with the structural (not just cosmetic) carbon roof makes a meaningful difference in agility, steering feel, due to 90kg less unsprung weight. Likely higher torsional rigidity and a better ability to feel the car at the limit and to put the power done. I track mine and added Milway camber plates and did a more sporty alignment. Now it's perfect for my use case of canyons, mountains and track. Note, I have driven M2C 6 spd with aftermarket MCS single ways and GC camber plates, and the SAME alignment as me and it feels very different still. There is some special sauce in the M2CS. Unless you drive it, it's hard to explain. It's a joyful agile puppy whereas the M2C is a less refined chattering brute with less feel and emotion.

Great video! Was really interesting to have a "real world" opinion from an enthusiast owner and not a car journalists review where cost doesn't seem to be so important.

I think the CS will naturally hold its value alot better and I think you would struggle to get the money back on the mods should you come to sell the Comp. Being a M2C owner I believe I will eventually mod mine when the warranty runs out at end of year as there is not many car that grab my attention around the M2C costs
@TunedIntoCars3 жыл бұрын
The CS in the video has lost 20k euros just sitting in a showroom. I personally call that a disaster. And unfortunately, in Sweden at least, that is the case with most CS models. Regarding the mods, of course you'll struggle getting the money back for the mods, that's why usually you take the mods down and then you sell the car as stock.

I agree with you on all the comparisons and how competition can be made better for less, because I own a m2 comp too. Nevertheless, enthusiasts buy the CS for the exclusivity, the badge, and for the resell value in time. Anyhow, you can't go wrong with either cars.

You‘re right about the differences between M2C and M2CS. If you want a collectors car, get the CS and leave it as is. If you want a drivers car, get the Competition, put in an upgraded suspension and give it a tune with aftermarket exhaust and some carbon if you desire. I‘ve done all that (except for the tune) and the final price for all mods will be around 15.000€. To be honest, I‘m really envious about your equal length exhaust, that one is not road legal here in Germany. So I chose Akrapovic which has a really different sound but brings up some memories of the E46 M3 in some cases.

The BMW M2 CS I purchased has 405 HP per the MCO/MSO that I received when I bought the car. Doesn't look like it was worth $30,000+ more than my M2 Competition that I traded in. BMW has yet to explain to me why it states only 405 HP and not the advertised 444 HP. Has anyone else had this issue? What is going on? Should I be concerned?
