We move forward with our 2020 Toyota Supra build to get it ready for SEMA (and for the drag strip)! TURBO UPGRADE! We install a new turbo onto the Supra and then put it on the dyno to see what sort of power it can make on pump gas!

I like how they incorporated the Watergate into the turbo how they did, makes it so it wastes straight into the down pipe. Excited to own one of these engines in the near future...but I am a BMW guy, so I will probably own one in an actual bmw. I work on light duty diesels for a living, the common rail systems on those are running 5k psi at idle and 25k+ wide open. I am sure someone builds a stroker pump for these engines already.

Thats a pretty cool setup for a stock housing turbo that gets milled out for a larger wheel. The common port turbos are super common these days. My EcoBoost mustang used a twin scroll turbo where it split out the cylinders into two ports so the exhaust pulses didn't work against each other. Lot of really cool technology these days.

The valve on the stock exhaust opens and closes but that is all it does. It doesn't change the sound. The engine going into sport mode changes the sound and the pumped in audio/ fake exhaust sound changes the sound. Bros four speed proved this on his videos. Great car though! I just bought a 2021 Supra. I love it. I turned the fake exhaust sound off on mine.

I like the idea of the color matched indicator light up front, but does the jdm one have a clear reflector similar to the 86? I think if it’s available a clear reflector would contrast well depending on the color and be compliant, not that most people or cops would even know that a color matched part would supposed to be a reflector.

Hey guys, I don't know if your Supra is affected, but I heard there's a recall on the 2020 Supras about some body or frame welds. Some people are apparently getting new Supras that don't have defective welds. Please look into it if you haven't. Love you guys!

You guys are a bad influence with the BMW Supra, and on that matter the Hemi Jeep. I’m a 90’s ricer guy, and at one point I had a 94’ 240sx and a 96’ locked up 4runner. In high school I was saving to turbo the 240 or swap to a SR20 but I got Tboned in the Nissan and I was sadly at fault. In another turn of events 6 months later I totaled my 4Runner when I was 4 wheelin’. It’s a sweet combination you guys got, to me it’s all good; 4Wheelin’, driftin’, 1320’s..ect.

That head with the built in exhaust ports look like an amazingly restrictive part of the exhaust and turbo feed system. Some porting or extrude honing would open it up more for greater flow.

Nice job on the camera this time Kevin. Not bad. 500 wheel for early tuning and you're not turned up yet on race gas and methanol injection. Theres a white mk5 in Puerto Rico that ran 9.92 at 133 mph already. Low mph trap speed for the ET but the ET is amazing. Stock turbo too. Means the mk5 can launch and cut a gnarly 60 foot. See what you guys can do to beat that! Would love to see your supra after all mods and tuning in Mexico for some rolls after. Wish you guys were in NJ. I would like to run you guys.

What is the manifold temp before and after? Is there and upgraded inter cooler available or are you hoping to create more manifold air density using the water meth to cool the exhaust gases and the turbo?

So you had an issue on the jl with a turbo and high compression motor. Any concerns you might make the same mistake? You pretty much doubled the horsepower at the wheels.

Surago this engine is built for boost since it comes with a turbo already and has direct injection. The jeep was not built for boost and had port injection with high compression. Not worried at all.

Question did you build the motor to run a bigger turbo or are you just putting on a turbo kit on a bone stoke engine? If the latter expect a similar result that you had with your Jeep’s v6. I work on European cars and even the engines built for turbo tend to break because the engines are not built strong enough. Remember that car companies cut corners to make money.

Nice, for the brake pads are a must, I tried them all, 5 year racing and found the PFC compound 08 to be the best overall. Longer lasting then the 11 smoother on the disk then the pagid yellow and a lot less noise the the pagid and no bedding they are good to go out of the box. And like I said previously go to Road America you will be amazed 🤪

A new motor oil 0-16 is coming out in May 2020 just for the direct injection engines. Keep an eye out for it.

Suppose to be the best oil formulation available for today cars...0-16 with new properties for your engines according to Scotty Kilmer you tube channel.

The older modle supra has had more than a decade to get to where it at. This car was running 10's less than a month from its release. The MK4 Supra is an amazing machine, but the MK5 is just superior in every single way. You can not even begin to compare the performance of these two.

BMW built a nice car. I still wish Toyota would have actually built a Supra. They don't build anything anymore. The last sports car was a Subaru, and they totally ripped off the Nissan Maxima with the Camry design.
