Edit: All of the wonderful folks in replies have reminded me that it's "Learn to Fly" and it's re-released on Steam. Please at least go look at it, it's a classic.

Honestly, he probably assumed you couldn't boost in the beginning. He thought upgrading the engine made the starting ramp speed faster, the boost was to use after you took off, and the upgrade was just to get more out of the bonus(that one he's correct about lol).

Reminds me a bit of Guts and Glory. I like seeing the little worlds they programmed every time Arin overshot the goal. Anyone else sitting there like Dan dying for Arin to push the “change vehicle” button and see how much it is every time the rocketship is flashing? 🚀 [edit:] And the satisfaction of hearing Arin’s determination at 20:00 in. He may finally see how wonderful of a person my mom is in comparison, and slowly fall in love with her over time. Meanwhile, my mom falls in love with the funeral director.
