Tobey did such a great job with his grunts and screams, and I mean that. It brought life to the character, especially when it was CGI. He always made his presence known in that suit, which may have been intentional on Raimi's end since he couldn't always show his face. But Tobey knows how to sound like he is getting hurt. The final fight in the first one especially.

In my mind tobey always made the screams and grunts feel real. Like being a hero is no joke and he made them sound more real than what we normally get today. I could feel the tension in a scene when he would use all his strength and he would grunt or scream loudly, like the scene where he pulls himself back and slingshots himself towards the goblin during the final act of the film.
