Thanks for sharing, girls. How should we assign these roles? Should them be assigned weeks in advance or do you recommend using short texts/stories to have it all done in class?

Hi! I have done it in two ways. If I'm working with a novel, I assigned a number of chapters of students to read at home and I give them a role sheet to work along and bring filled out on the date of the discussion. Then I switch roles for the next set of chapters. Now if I'm working on a short text, I usually just give them the sheets in class and allow them to use their cell phones to look up the words in the dictionary and do other necessary research. Great Ideas For Teachers And Students You certainly did. Students where I work are a bit reluctant about different reading practices from what other teachers do. I've tried reading circles before but not as well as you demonstrated in the video. I'll be trying again this semester following your tips and let you know later. Thanks for the attention.
