That’s because Gears 5 really had some unlikeable characters, too much humour/light hearted moments. It had lost its gritty and hopeless feeling, the version of gears that we all fell in love with when we first watched that Mad World Xbox360 trailer years agon

Its titled Gears of War E-day. They gave us back the OF WAR part of the name. Im so excited. Lets Goooo. Mad World played in the very first announcement trailer of OG gears 1. This is an awesome tribute. Xbox killed it with this year's reveals.

You know how strong a drone is when it can lift a human as big as Marcus is up in the air while he is wearing almost full cog armour. I mean he didn't even have to make a fist he just full on slapped in the face! But in the end you do not want to f*ck with Marcus Fenix!

We all grew up with Marcus and Dom. Marcus brought out fight and Dom tugged at our heartstrings. They became the two most iconic characters of all time. Gears is back.

Been playing the gears games for the very first time. Felt like I missed out on such an incredible franchise when I was younger. But me being older now, I wanna experience it before the new game releases. But man the new trailer really convinced me to give this series the love and attention it deserves. Gears of War started 14 years after E-Day. In my opinion that's enough time for a whole prequel trilogy that ends with his arrest and incarceration leading up to Gears 1. Imagine Young Baird, young Cole and young Anya! Seeing JD and Kate as kids!

I'm really excited to see how E-Day is gonna play out, I did read the gears of War Books as well and "the Slab" tells you about the time of Marcus being in prison how he exactly ended up there and the early hours of E-Day. Really looking forward to see how much of that is implemented.

If done right this can be a prequel trilogy since gears one is 14 years after this game so last game could be him trying to save his dad and maybe give it a DLC for him in prison and get his scar

I'm excited and worried at the same time. The trailer was great, and most things they spoke of in the blogpost sounded really good to; accept for one line. After hitting all the right nostalgic & lore markers, they ended with saying its all being done through a "modern lens", and that is huge red flag for me. So I really really really hope they didn't screwed it up, and don't use the prequel to prop up Diaz or worse.
