Welcome Everyone, Well the time has come to do what I said I never would do, Install Lithium batteries. The price on lithium batteries is cheaper than ever but are they any good? is it worth it? With so many questions on what it would take to do this I sat down with Bob from Next Exit in hopes of answering some of the things I needed to consider before making that leap, Bob and I are not battery experts but we wanted to share with other RV'ers thinking about Lithium batteries from a full-timer perspective.
Over the next few videos we look at the nagging questions and how I handled those as we make the DIY plunge into installing lithium batteries... I will be using these batteries boondocking in the real world over the coming year and letting you know how well they work. I hope it helps you too, Join us, Shall you?
WARNING:
Doing your own electrical work is DANGEROUS, know the safety precautions to take: turn off power at the source before working, treat all wires as if they’re live, use tools with non-conducting handles, and so on. Electrical systems on RV's can cause risk of shock, severe burns, fire or even death! If you’re not confident about your ability to work with electricity, don’t take chances with your RV or your life. Get your vehicle serviced only by individuals who are knowledgeable and experienced in RV electrical repair.
As always,
Thanks for watching!

You told me "Thanks for the battery making video, that convinced me to make my own". Then you risk cutting your fingers and even Bob's fingers off with a saws all. Yikes! "Rachet wire cutters" lol. Still looks like the outcome is good. Nice to watch you and Bob working together.

Good job! This makes me think about changing my ME2012 inverter and adding 1 or 2 more lithium batteries.

The 2812 dropped right in, if we didn't already have our hands full I would have considered the Invictron ... maybe an upgrade in a year or two but loving the pure sine for sure #EverythingWorks! 😁

I am really good at mechanical things but when it comes to electrical things I'm pretty much a nimrod. You made it look easy Dave and I'm sure it wasn't. It's like watching an episode of This Old House and they do a project in two half-hour programs and at home it takes you 5 weekends, lol. Thanks for the share though it does get me to thinking that perhaps I should change my rig over someday. With help!!! Merton😎👌✌

I think Bob (Vila? 😳 🤣) and I spent the first day mostly engineering the project, second day connecting it all together. Can't tell you how much fun that was, Bob is a hoot to work with!

@@dougd9944 thanks Doug, the swap over was easier than making the 4/0 cables since the other wiring was basically the same, that helped speed the process 👍 added watts are good but the puresine has been the biggest thing 👍👍
