Earlier this week, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski detailed his plans for Poland’s foreign policy for the next few years. 232 deputies voted in favor on Friday, while 193 were against.
After months of stalling, the U.S. House of Representatives has passed a major foreign aid bill, worth nearly 100 billion dollars. Of that sum, over 61 billion will go straight to Ukraine... aid that President Zelenskyy says is key to his country’s victory over Russia.
Problems may soon arise for Ukrainians of draft age who have left the country. A new mobilization law has led Ukraine’s partners including Poland to consider mobilizing their Ukrainian citizens.
A member of the Hamas leadership said that the organization had received an official Israeli truce offer. The government in Tel Aviv earlier informed Egypt, which is mediating the talks, that it was giving peace a final chance.

@@romanromanovic7654 I am German my dude. Also ... nice keyboard warrior antics there ;) "get your ass to the front" he said from the safety of his own home which absolutely is not in Ukraine. There are countless excuses to run from a war, all valid. As a former soldier I will tell you again: people forced into service (we had compulsory military service whilst I was in the army) are barely functional in their capacity as soldiers or supporting roles and need extreme supervision and constant control to do their work properly. Binding additional personnel and resources better used elsewhere or doing the work yourself.

Regardless of what message is pushed by America's media outlets, the American people both see and admire Poland's commendable efforts to support their neighbors in need. Benjamin, good job. I really like the format of the new programs. It's more relaxed, and at the same time more informative. People tend to forget that Ukraine is a very young democracy. They've had to deal with a lot of difficulties since 1991. The culture of corruption runs deep, and it's not easy to root it out. America declared independence in 1776, and we still have corruption rear it's ugly head at times. It happens in every country, as there are always those willing to take advantage of others for selfish gains. Like a cancer, it must be removed each time it appears. It takes time to change a culture so deeply engrained in the people's psyche, but it's definitely worth it. The situation in Israel is troublesome. There are many Muslim countries, but only one Jewish nation. Iran does not recognize Israel's right to exist, and has vowed to remove it from the map. The Islamist terrorists in the Middle East, Hamas, etc., were established to destroy Israel and kill all the Jews. They demonstrated this on Oct. 7. However, none of the Muslim countries in the area want the Palestinians in their country. Realistically, a two state solution is probably unworkable, and Israel does not want it either. If had a neighbor that was always attacking me and my house, I would not want them to live next-door to me. Israel's neighbors are continuously attacking them from multiple sides. How would you feel in the same situation? Whether Islamist terrorists or Russian terrorists, I would defend my home and family, and make sure the enemy would not be a danger in the future.

Correct. Also, a gigantic boundary to monitor and secure, and a military that was frankly.....not very competent, an industrial base that was in someone else's hands, and a citizenry that didn't feel much of a common sense of purpose, Europe's lowest GDP, a building inventory from Soviet days with zero energy efficiency or modern design thinking, and a very under-developed, poverty-plagued rural countryside. Lots of big problems and no money. No wonder you got invaded. Hopefully after the victory, there will be lots of jobs rebuilding, new roads, new dams, new energy developments, a domestic oil and gas industry, new strategic military bases and a giant splash of modernity. Offer free scholarships to Belarusians, so that when they graduate, they can steer their country westward in 10 or 15 years. Who knows, in 20 years Russia might want to join Europe too. That's the pathway to security.

Appreciate that your guest pointed out the danger of people, around the world, who see Russia as a romanticised, conservative-haven, including too many Americans. Yes, the Ukrainian Armed Forces need infantry soldiers. However, they also need military personnel to carry out other tasks that don't take place on the frontline . Another extremely valuable service repatriated Ukrainians could be used for is repairing electric grids and other infrastructure repair. The Black Sea ports such as Odessa have had shipping infrastructure destroyed that desperately need to be restored. And there must be myriad technology needs those Ukrainian citizens could work on, both military and civilian related. I totally agree with Ukrainian embassies and consulates all over the world refusing to renew passports, visas and suchlike for Ukrainian citizens currently living in other countries. And those countries should deport anyone remaining there without proper documentation.

I believe you are correct when you say that Russia has the mindset of "greatness." I think this is based on their misconception of the greatness of the Russian Empire in history. Much of such a narrative comes from generations of propaganda. Going back to the time of the tsars, in addition to megalomania, Russia has looked to Europe and the west with a combination of envy and paranoia. Putin's imperialistic goals are also based on his search for significance. He knows that the Russian people are becoming dissatisfied with their lack of basic needs and opportunities. Invading Ukraine is not only his chance of having a legacy of greatness by reconstitution of the so-called "Empire," but also provides a distraction from the sad state of the country. Unfortunately, in his psychopathic self- centeredness, the lives of Russians, Chechans, Georgians, Ukrainians and Europeans do not matter. Maintaining power and the kleptocracy for himself and his gang of oligarchs is the Supreme objective.
