It's not a copy of Bittersweet symphony (by the Swerve), although music is really very similar. This song/dance was first performed as far as I know, by Lithuanian community in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1903. The Swerve's song is dated 1997. So..

No one is saying that this Lithuanian folk song/dance was taken from the Verve's Bittersweet Symphony orchestral riff. They are in fact saying the OPPOSITE, that the IDEA for the Bittersweet Symphony orchestral riff MAY have come from this Lithuanian folk song/dance. There are similarities but who knows? Anyway, the above clip is great!

Well the song that is played here is Lithuanian folk song :) bitute pilkoji is kur medu nesioji.... :) all children knows this song :) in Lithuanian before Verve made bittersweet Symphony :)
