Labai Ačiū! Cases in lithuanian are a hard nut to crack, but with your help, it becomes easier!

You explain very well, this language like others is well learned through conversation, maybe helpful to show conversation with explanation of why the change in verb and nouns happen. Thanks for your hard work.

Hello Edmundas!. I had to come back again and thank you. Now I'm studying genitive in my Lithuanian lessons here in Vilnius, and this particular lesson has been REALLY helpful!! I am still studying it, but I feel that this makes a huge difference. So thanks again :D

If I’m not mistaken, the numbers 1-9 (and numbers that end in them aside from 11-19) seem to change form depending on the following noun’s gender. In other words, numbers 1-9 seem to be treated like adjectives while 10, 11-19, 20, 30, etc. seem to be treated like words like “daug”. The way of thinking behind this system of numbers wherein the genitive is used with some numbers could be something like this I think 🤔

Yes, it's kind like that. Like adjectives?.. Hmmm... Interesting.

I really appreciate these lessons, by the way, sir 😊 I actually would like to learn Russian but since I have a Lithuanian pen pal (a digital one though, on Whatsapp), I thought I would try to learn some. I noticed though that since I learnt the basics of Russian cases, Lithuanian cases have become more understandable to me. Aš tikiu kad jūs esate sveiki (Sorry if there is any mistake. Please correct any if there are). Greetings from a Filipino living in Australia.

What I understood. some, many, any If you would use these propositions you would use genitive. In French it's easier since you can say that this is used whenever there would be de or du. This is also being used in what they call the 'indenombrable', which basically means when you're speaking of unspecified amounts.

professor, really appreciate of your classes, just have a question that the reason you explain those grammars at first is to use them at later lessons so that we can understand and apply it rightly? it's a bit hard to understand even I replay your lecture 2-3 times but hopefully I don't have to fully understand all those grammars but step by step following your other lectures..

To learn all cases and to know how to use them needs a lot of learning and practising.

professor, im confused about whether mamos becomes mamo when the person saying it is a male,or brolis to something eklse and so on...?
@danialheidari12563 жыл бұрын
I mean which of the two possessive pronouns in the sentence ''my mom's car'' does the suffix apply or depend on? Is it my or mom's (her)? or is it some kind of complex concurrency?
@danialheidari12563 жыл бұрын
or do we even say my mom's car seperately? like mano mamos mašiną? or just mamos mašiną independent of who does say it (like it doesnt matter whether it is my/your/her/his)?
@LithuaniaForYou3 жыл бұрын
'Mano mamos mašina' doesn't change, it doesn't matter who is saying, a man or a woman.
