Long story short: we found this little black devil on the street, running in between the cars, almost got ran over. He was so shocked when we caught him, it was as if he sees a human for the first time.
The kitten was scared of us and but with love, patience and food we turned the little black devil into a little black angel.

We are Stoyan and Dessy from Bulgaria. We are not organization, neither a shelter, we are just an ordinary couple with a big dream. Everything we provide for the stray animals is coming from our own pockets or with the help of donations from our subscribers. We have 7 cats at home, all rescued from the streets. Bulgaria is a small country with lots of stray animals and not enough kind people to take them in. Our dream is to build a shelter where we could take care of many stray animals with the help of Dessy's mom. I'm on my second. The last one died at almost 22. He was so intelligent that playing games with him was always a gamble, because I invariably came out the stupid one. My current one uses mirrors to ambush me. She knows her reflection is just that, and she understands the complimentary angles perfectly. Basically, she never misses a pounce.

This reminds me so much of my kitten. Had pneumonia and the mother abandoned it. Found it following me right before cutting the grass and I took it to the vet and she said she was about 3 weeks and was blunt about her illness often being fatal in kittens that young. So I took her home and never named her, figured I'd let her feel loved before it was her time. She somehow beat the odds and I named her Zoey when I realized she was gonna make it. She's now a very playful and sassy/hissy 6 year old. Had a lot of help from a lot of people as I had zero experience with cats. Wouldn't trade that decision for anything, even on the days she intentionally pushes my buttons.

Lovely story. Well done for doing the right thing. I took in a family of strays, mother and six newborn kittens. Didn't see them for 3 weeks as they lived in every nook and cranny they could find with the only evidence of their habitation being the food bowls magically emptying. Once they know they are safe though, complete turnaround. Found good homes for 4 of the kittens and the rest still live with me.
