Honestly, he is ADORABLE! Thank you so much for posting, my little boy is 1.5 years old, I've never cut his hair, and I have no idea how. But he is now developing a mullet which I'm not particularly fond of, so I will try your technique. Hopefully I don't screw up too much, I've never cut anyone's hair before, but I figured, I probably need to get used to it!
