Back when a large, beautiful liners existed, where you could sail across in luxury, be proud of what you were on and actually like it. Not hiding in your room because of a stomach flu, where you could sit on the boat deck, lay there, go into a grand cafe, sit in the lounge, walk down grand staircases, travel the ocean in only 5 days and look up and see grand, towering red/yellow funnels blowing the smoke from the boilers. We need ocean liners back.

Sadly ocean liners are used as a travel transport but then planes came in and they replace it's paper, being cheaper and faster so yeah, sadly they don't have a use anymore

At least we have the chance to get in a ship, back in the 1900s ocean liner tickets were so expensive. That happen to airliners as well. We should be grateful that they let us buy a ship ticket for like 50$.

Because 'air liners.' If the odd person wasn't afraid of air travel or disliked it, or simply preferred to travel by sea, even Cunard would've had to declare bankruptcy a long time ago. And I'm glad: I don't consider myself a cruise person, but I would like to experience a transatlantic crossing at least once in my life.
@Hascienda27

@@BNuts yeah but even airliners had Concorde and that went up the tubes cause of the prices and instead of bothering to improve on it to bring prices down with equally good technology, we just stuck it in a museum and accepted this standard airliner/ cruise ship combo as enough when it shouldn’t be

establishment. … Company, generally known as the Cunard Line. Its first ship, the Unicorn, set out for America on May 15, 1840. Also becoming the First official OceanLiner and thus forward many new transatlantic companies began to form like the anchor line, white star line, hamburg American line, Leyland Line and so on. Yet, somehow the QR line has been able to maintain service to this day and in my opinion, they are the ultimate company and I don’t even think that the newer people working at Cunard even though their company started it all.

I wish more oceanliners existed today than just QM2. Like what if people wanna travel a luxurious way than a regular airplane. Could we possibly get a ship faster than the SS United States. In old footage of oceanliners they’re big and grand with people on the docks waving to their loved ones. Do you see that with planes? I don’t think so.

With Enough Expenses then Yes we could Theoritically get a Ship faster than the SS United States however I highly doubt any company today would ever try to attempt to make another Ship such as the SS United States due to the current trends of Naval Architecture today

The SS United States will forever remain the holder of the Blue Ribband. The birth of the de Havilland Comet put an end to the speed wars. There is no point anymore. People will prioritize speed over an actual enjoyable experience.

I remember as a kid wanting to experience what it was like to take a trip on an Ocean Liner, I got the closest thing in the current day (Cruise Ships) and to say it is not the luxurious and proud comfort I have always dreamed of. I remember watching movies about Ocean Liners such as the Titanic and thinking when I become an Adult I would enjoy having fancy dinners where me, my family and our special guests would have a wonderful time. To think the best way to cross an Ocean during this time would be by Ship, an Ocean Liner designed for your comfort instead of paying a small sum to a Freighter also heading in the same direction is like the dream of a poor boy. Not only that but it wouldn't take at-most 24 hours to cross an Ocean on a Plane but several days maybe even a week, just imagine the excitement of finally reaching the destination all while having a good time and meeting new found friends during your times on the ship.
