Little Fighter 2 - Practical Combos for (almost) all LF2 characters guide

Enable CC/Subtitles for input commands. !DvA! means press all 3 keys of DvA at once.
This video is meant to compile/list a bunch of practical combos for almost all of the characters in LF2, excluding weapon combos other than Freeze's ice sword combos. The key word is "practical", that means no F6 and it can be reasonably used in actual fights. Do note this list is non-exhaustive; there's more possible combos out there than what I have here, but I showed most of the common ones. Timestamps and a link to a couple other videos below.
I modded the weapons to delete themselves so they don't fall out of the sky and interfere with the recordings, hence why some shadows seem to randomly appear.

I understand if the subtitles/text are too fast to read, but you can just change the speed in the settings or simply pause the video. The shortcut key for playing/pausing the video is "K", not spacebar. You can press , or . to move the video by 1 frame backward/forward respectively.
This will be my last upload for at least October-November 2017 period since I've some stuff to settle irl.

Man, I used to play this game 12 years ago. Holy crap! Some of the combos are just insane such as Deep's, Firen's and especially Woody's one shot combo. Great work for sure. I long for Davis' part because he's the most bad ass character according to me and my my favorite one!

Also i cant do all combos mentioned in video. Eg. Grab+5×A+throw i cant push 5 times. I can only 4 times. I cant do freeze's ice ball+ jump attack+dash attack and etc. Maybe key ghosting blocks me to push buttons rapid and/or simultaneously idk. Do you have similar problems and how could i fix these?

for freezen, 1. use ice sword, >> a(not throw) + throw then take ice sword jump to enemy then opposite direction ice ball + D^J then throw ice sword. and repeat until no mp. for john, AAA + shield * N until no MP then last hit A + >> JA

Huge fan of your content, i have 3 questions: 1) which characters can do infinite (damage) without beer or unlimited mana. 2) will you please show them. 3) in 1 vs 1 if infinities are allowed but no beer or milk, what would be the tier list.

1) Technically every character can except Henry(his only infinite needs too much MP) and Hunter(doesn't have). When a character is in his stunned state, he has an huge hitbox(itr kind 16) that changes nearby enemies' normal punch into using super_punch. The trick is to move towards the enemy and start a normal punch outside of this ik16 range. This lets your character use friction/sliding to get within range. Some characters do not have very good hitbox/hurtbox sizes to do this along the x-axis(horizontally), but you can definitely do it along z-axis since almost all itrs have a zwidth of 15 (14+1+14). 2) No time. 3) It becomes all about getting the first hit and how easy it is to keep them stunned. So... Rudolf(very easy + multistar) > Dennis,Davis(energy ball) > John,Deep,Woody,Firen(situational) > Freeze,Louis(punch only) > Henry(no practical infinite)

how come J...A >JA doesn't work for me like it does on 4:14? I can't seem to make that sort of jumping attack without running.

You can roll or dash right after landing from normal jump by pressing D or >J respectively upon landing. Jump Attack: for most characters, if you kick early enough before landing, you will recover back to normal jumping air frames, allowing you to kick again or choose to roll/dash away upon landing. Try using jump attack one time without intending to hit anyone to get a feel of how long it takes and when exactly to press >JA (tip: hold >, and then press JA together at the same time upon landing). Once you have a feel of that, you can start practicing the 4:14 combo. Its basically frame-perfect though, even I can't do it right most of the time XD

AAA < >!D>J! D>JA Dang, that's a tough combo from Firzen to pull off using the "instant run" trick because of the need to rhythmically cancel(D), dash(>J) and then actually kick(A).

Hit enemy until he becomes dizzy for 1s. Then simply walk forward towards enemy while he is still dizzy.

I think there is a thing with Davis's mana attack. You need to get the timing right but if you do , you can use infinitely(or till the opponent dies). Mana attacks are kinda underrated I feel. Also Henry can do the same thing as Rudolf in terms of D>A. There will be more arrows missed but I think it almost a combo when used twice with >>J>A finisher

There's 3 main contenders for best in 1v1 - Woody, Davis, Dennis. If you include tournament rules, then Woody has been at #1 consistently. --- 1. Woody is very well-rounded in any situation, powerful combos/mixups. There's also very little you can do if he decides to spam D>J (which is why rules usually limit it to about x4 uses). --- 2. Davis can apply a lot of pressure with D>A and has very high yet consistent damage. There's also very little you can do if he decides to abuse D^A's startup invulnerability (which is why rules usually limit D^A to x2 uses). --- 3. Dennis applies pressure based on how threatening his >>A, >>JA and D>J are, and his DvA lets him guarantee that you stay down for him to better re-position himself. If he manages to stun/grab you, you will suffer a lot of combo damage(possibly an infinite as well. So there's a bunch of rules for these). He can also spam D^A chaseballs non-stop(another rule for this). --- As a final note, I do want to point out that its best to pick a character based on what you like, rather than purely by a tier list.

You're referring to the trick at 6:06? You don't wait until the move finishes, you should buffer your inputs. As practice, this is what you can do: 1) First, perform D^A. 2) Immediately press D again, and then hold ^ without letting go. 3) Press A before the move finishes. 4) When the 2nd D^A starts, you can let go of ^ and repeat step 2. Alternatively, you can try: 1) Hold v without letting go. 2) Perform D^A. 3) Now perform D^A again, one key at a time. 4) Repeat as needed. In other words, the important thing is to take advantage of LF2's input buffering. --- The next thing is to realize the timing for rolling. This timing doesn't have to be frame-perfect since LF2 has a lenient "grace period" with default inputs, but it does need to be close enough. 1) Perform D^A. 2) Wait until Woody has finished the kick and is crouching. 3) Press D. The timing is the same as if you are doing D^A >JA. 4) If you want to cancel the roll into DvA, immediately do vA. --- If you combine the knowledge of these two, you'll realize that both sliding up/down and the roll/dash happen in the exact same crouch frame(frame 215 for those of you who know data changing) that happens if you land from normal jump or from flipping out of falling.

I used to play. As can as i remember fast characters almost can avoid from slow characters and can hit back. ( John, henry, rudolf, dennis, firen> freeze, davis louis, woody, deep)? I loved freeze but ice ball is too slow, needs too mana and cant shot repeatedly

There is a way for the slower characters to catch up. Constantly spam >>J (dash) instead of running; very useful if you are trying to chase that AI that's running away with your milk. Even then Deep would still be slower than usual, Henry would be slightly ahead and can shoot back while doing so, Louis can fly really far in one dash. In any case, it is extremely easy to run away in LF2, which is the main reason why PvP takes place in the HK Colosseum background you see here.

@@STM1993 oh thanks. I was always freeze and my twin was always firen. He has beat me all the time. I thought most character were same fight power but some of them hits hard, some of them hits fast etc. You mentioned some in this video too. Is there any description for these? and how can i find pvp rooms

Firen does have an advantage when fighting against Freeze, because he is more able to fight at range with fireballs, is able to hit "inside" when in a punching match and he makes Freeze's D>J icicles useless. That said Freeze can even the odds if you know how to maximize the combo damage you do each time the enemy is frozen, or even master the ice sword without letting Firen take control of it. Plus, Freeze's dash attack is slightly faster and you can still hit Firen with a melee attack when he uses his D>J fire run. Also, remember you can simply block fireballs and Firen uses a lot of mana too. There are PvP tips out there, but very few go into detail about the matchups and are mostly pretty general. Knowing how to edit LF2 also helps a lot since it means you can read the frame data. I do intend to make videos on all of that, but I don't really have the time right now. --- For PvP rooms, it depends on where you live; I wouldn't ask someone from Poland to play against someone from China because of the lag involved. I'd suggest searching facebook groups or LF2 forums from the same language/region as you. In LF2 we don't really have a dedicated PvP room, we just ask if someone wants to play and then spontaneously make a room.

...not true. Change your positioning a bit. John's shield combos are extremely sensitive to positions, and the characters' injured hitboxes can be a bit inconsistent, but 99% of the combos shown here will work on all characters - and most the discrepancies occur either from Julian/Knight or combos that involved Grab+Special move. This combo is not one of them. edit: The main big exception in this video would be Firen vs Julian/Knight, which I didn't show in the video. I'm also not sure about Louis' D>J D

For Grab, normal throw is always -1 of the maximum (usually 4). Special moves let you use at the maximum. I already replied to someone regarding some tips to grab punching below. --- For the rest, it all comes down to finding your own rhythm/cues to the correct timing and having the right keyboard. I can't really help with those. I would also advise investing more time into practicing things that are easier to input consistently than those that require perfect inputs for relatively little gain(like Freeze jump kick + dash attack, its only 35dmg and hard to do, not worth it). Afterall, what use is a combo if you can't get the enemy into the right situation to use it in the first place, let alone doing it correctly?

Usually you'd have to find a local community in or around the country you stay in, and then ask or get invited to play. After that, the players may either connect to one of the players(direct hosting, with routers port forwarded if any) via their ip, or use a community-made server like Chiko's LF2Lobby which is primarily based in London. Good luck finding anyone outside of the chinese-speaking community in Taiwan/Hong Kong/China nowadays though. I've no idea if the Polish, Russian or Hebrew communities are still active when it comes to multiplayer, but over at LFE no one is playing, especially since international games get really laggy/slow.
