Hush! That’s a sign of a lack of supervision, ALL kids gravitate in those naughty directions when left alone long enough. The mother clearly states she’s gone in the fridge and done this before where she even managed to unhurt herself so we know no one is stepping supervision in the face of this behaviour. Second you discipline her for wasting a whole block of cheese that cost money and wasting food isn't something that is ok (I wouldn't put that back in the frigde) and from the context she has been told already not to go get stuff from fridge before and she still does it. On top of that not doing what told repeatetly at the moment and she clearly will do it again or whatever she wants after that if that is the level of parenting. That looks more like playing than actually telling her not to do that. It's ok to scold your kids, it's neccesary. This reminds me of a story my mom told me about my sister. My parents liked to keep their produce in a decorative set of standing/hanging baskets, and for a while, they'd notice their tomatoes and avocados would rot almost immediately, and they couldn't figure out why.
