Thanks for sharing all this info, we are trying to decide between the Little Guy Max and a truck camper. You seem to be very comfortable driving the Little Guy Max which is swaying my decision. I'll keep watching as this has been really helpful. Take care!

We LOVE this travel trailer. ❤ It is so easy to pull and turns around on a dime. Good luck on your search! I hope you find what fits your lifestyle. ❤

This is a very helpful video! Question - did you need the Reese sway control adapter? Thanks so much!
@TurnerMaxAdventures6 ай бұрын
We had a sway bar that connected from the car hitch to the trailer.

Thank you for the rundown! I have had two TDI Touaregs, towed a load of baby furniture in a twin axle u-haul in our 2010. Then came the buyback... Now have a 2015 TDI Executive that I bought with 30k miles. She's got 60 now, and I am going to take her trailering. We shall see how this goes, not getting a small trailer. Little Guy Max was my favorite new trailer, by far (we don't have airstream scratch) and would have worked but we are soon onto baby number 2. We take delivery on a 1971 Avion La Grande V-25 this weekend.

Have a wonderful time and congrats on baby #2! My brother still has a Touareg, maybe he'll let me drive it every now and then. 😂 Just to get it out of my system.

It was extremely helpful to get a direct answers. I have a new Nissan Pathfinder 4WD that can pull 6,000 and bought it at the end of the yr clearance and had them add a tow package (for free). What was also helpful was your research about sway bar vs weight distribution. Was wondering if you put in the furrion back up camera and what size screen. I’m thinking of getting the 5” screen since many said the 7” screen got in the way. What’s your thoughts. I have the LGM and going to get it looked at before my first big adventure since I bought it used and still under warranty (2018)..thanks! Would love to see more you tube videos.

The Furrion back up camera was already installed on ours, but we love it. It helps tremendously! I believe we have the 5" screen. Enjoy your Max and happy travels!

There is nothing odd. Battery is there for safety reasons. Touareg as high class Porcha design accommodates some high speed safety practices. The car is enough "soft" to absorb heavy crashes but the battery is too stiff for it .

Curious how the Touareg has held up longer term with your camper towing? Have a 2016 TDI Sport and have a Grand Design Imagine 2150RB that we tow with it and have been using it for two years for mostly short distant tows. Seeing if you had any problems with more mileage towing on your vehicle? Thanks

It was okay for a few years but the transmission started going out on a trip and we upgraded to a dodge ram truck 2500. I have to say I do feel safer on trips in the truck but I miss my Touareg for every day use. 😕

Thanks for the reply. Love our car and it does tow great. Hopefully the Touareg will get us through for at least a few years.

Like you said depending on hills and mountains. I’m getting 13-17 mpg running 70-75mph pulling 3000lbs. Plus gear and essentials. 2011 lux tdi. Great vehicle haven’t used as much def as you two are lol. Are you guys using tow mirrors ??

We love our 2014 Touareg. It performed well even over the 15 Colorado mountain passes we towed across last month. Towing long distances, DEFinitely uses lots of DEF. We like to keep 5 gallons on-hand so we can refill whenever and wherever we happen to be when the alert happens. We have towed almost 30k miles and not used tow mirrors at all. We DO have the rear view camera and it's very helpful for highway driving.

Hi, thanks for your videos. Can you talk about the brake controller that you are using? I have a 2017 Touareg with factory tow package. Just wondering what else I'll need. thanks!
@TurnerMaxAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Hi, appreciate the feedback. Our 2014 touareg also has a tow package, but even with that, a brake controller is necessary to operate the trailer brakes. We had our rv dealer install a Tekonsha 90160 Prius IQ brake controller. It has worked well for us.

One more question, what hitch are you using? Thanks!
