I still watch the series to this day. Laura was my favorite out of all of them. And of course Nellie because we love to hate her, however once she grew up, I loved the scene where Nellie says to Laura, I've missed you and Laura replied, Ahhh I missed you too. Nellie says I can't believe we're saying this to each other, do you remember how we used to fight? Nellie Returns.

Melissa still looks exactly like Laura and Alison still sounds exactly like Nellie (albeit a kinder, friendlier Nellie). But no, I can so see Laura in all of Melissa’s mannerisms and expressions. I’ve noticed the older I get I cherish Little House more and more. It’s like I need it more. I’m 48 and have been watching it since memory, I’ve never, I never will. I love that Alison and Melissa have carried on a lifelong friendship, both of their books were great-it was like being a fly on the wall in Little House. Especially with the whole Melissa Sue Anderson deal, which notice we’ve never seen her with other cast members during reunions.

You could feel a little tension from Melissa Gilbert when a woman in the audience, also named Melissa, but said her name was Melissa Sue that Melissa Gilbert visibly stiffened up and her smile went away. You’d think after all these years the 2 Melissa’s would bury the hatchet.
