Lord Krishna is called Avatari... This means he is the source of everything... Lord Vishnu is his expansion nd not the other way round. Srimad bhagavatam, which is the topmost scripture in Hinduism explains in details who Krishna is... Even in Gita, it is clearly mentioned that He is the origin of everything and nothing, be it spiritual or material, can exist without Him. To understand him, u need to fully surrender unto Him... just like Arjuna did while understanding the Gita from Him. The Bhagavad Gita starts with surrender to Krishna and ends with surrender to Krishna. It's speaker is Krishna and also its goal is Krishna.
