You & Chris (and Barry) are helping build an authentic jazz vocabulary, which I've always found difficult. Thank you very much.

This isn’t new. Wes, Johnny Smith, and George Benson played this approach. In a Guitar Player magazine (late 1970s), George explained how he used 6ths to approach the fundamental sounds of major, minor, diminished, and augmented. Don’t take from me. Listen to George’s rendition of Danny Boy. Better yet, get his guitar instruction. He’s plays this approach on an old standard using a classical guitar and his thumb. Just killing it, Listen to Wes play In Your Sweet Way and virtually all his chord solos. Listen to Johnny Smith’s eponymous Verve albums o

Haven’t watched yet but had to say - love the name of this vid. Been watching TILFBH from the beginning and he really presents the material well. As do you.

Reminds me of being in the raga conservatory in the early 80s where we had brilliant musicians from India but equally brilliant fellow students.

This concept isn’t novel. Nevertheless, this artist’s approach takes it to another level. No doubt about it. He’s so generous with his talent. I’m going to buy his pdfs today. I’m not a slouch on guitar myself. But this material is for lifetime studies.

My advice to him is not guitar related. If you’re going to videos, look the part. Hit the weights and bulk up some especially if you are not going to cut your hair and trim your scruffy beard. Don’t look like you just out of bed. Get a couple of outfits or suits. This your profession dude! Don’t fall for that nonsense of “letting your playing do the talking” while looking a hot mess!
