This song is like that one friend, you see them and smile, their simple presence filling the hole in your heart where people you trusted took your happiness and will to live. And along with that happiness you want to cry because you know your personality will drive them away, but they comfort you and tell you that what fake people did to you was not your fault

I can distinctly remember listening to this song 3 times in my life. 2013 before I flew out to see my Grandfather for the last time while he was in hospice care, 2018 after my failed marriage and separation from the Navy, and today 2 days after having to put my dog and best friend of 6 years to sleep for kidney failure due to anemia. It has somehow taken on a different meaning for me with every listen and every stage of my life but you are correct it has aged like the finest of wines.

I can relate with the part that I rly fucked it up this time for breaking up with my gf, cuz I broke up with her for a stupid reason I shouldn’t have, so I fucked it up that time
@Messychimera6545 ай бұрын
I did the same thing, i got rejected for a job that i should of gotten and she was trying to reason about why they would and i wouldn't listen eventually ended the relationship with her on the spot. But what help me through it was that we made that choice for a reason, it wasn't because we were angry with them it was something that lead up to that moment for my case it was she was verbally abusive and physically abusive but she loved me with all her heart. I still think about her and what i lost but we have to accept that we made that call and move on with it. The past is gonna hurt but dwelling on it is gonna make your future just like the past. We learn from our mistakes and the next person you choose will be better for you. you hopefully will cherish them for as long as you can and remember that moment, so your future can benefit from that mistake ❤
